Associate Process Engineer (Maternity Cover)

As an Associate Process Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and improving API purification processes in a fast‑paced, high‑impact production environment. This maternity cover offers hands‑on experience in a truly global organisation.
Your new role
As an Associate Process Engineer, you will support daily operations and continuous improvement activities within API purification. Working closely with production, engineering and quality stakeholders, you will help ensure stable, compliant and efficient processes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Analysing production data to support systematic problem solving and root‑cause analysis
- Contributing to optimisation and improvement projects within purification processes
- Supporting equipment and process performance in daily operations
- Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to manage tasks, priorities and deadlines
- Supporting documentation, validation activities and GMP compliance
You will receive structured training and on‑the‑job learning, enabling you to develop strong process understanding and technical capabilities in a complex production environment.
Your new department
You will join the Purification Plant within Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (DAPI), located at the Kalundborg site. The department plays a critical role in the purification of active pharmaceutical ingredients and contributes to supplying more than half of the world’s insulin. You will be part of a dedicated process support team responsible for supporting equipment and processes related to column purification, UFDF, protein modification, precipitation and centrifugation in a dynamic production setup.
Your skills and qualifications
We imagine that you have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology, mechanical engineering or a related field
- Experience or strong interest in data analysis within a manufacturing or production environment
- Understanding of pharmaceutical or biochemical production equipment and processes
- Structured, quality‑focused mindset with ability to work independently
- Full English proficiency plus Danish or willingness to learn

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from DKK 499,600 to 734,400.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short‑term and/or long‑term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
