Regional Medical Advisor Private Healthcare
Medical Affairs

Zwolle, Netherlands

Covering the North Eastern Region

Are you passionate about improving the lives of people living with obesity and cardio-renal-metabolic diseases? Do you have an academic, medical or biomedical background, and do you enjoy being a field-based scientific expert? Step into a role where your scientific expertise shapes the future of obesity care in The Netherlands – within a rapidly evolving and widely discussed therapy area.

Your new role

As a Regional Medical Advisor (RMA) within the obesity domain, you play a crucial role in the adoption of innovative treatments in a rapidly growing, complex and highly visible market. You help further professionalise Dutch obesity care, strengthen the scientific dialogue with healthcare professionals in specialised obesity clinics and private healthcare clinics, and translate the latest data on semaglutide into clear, clinically relevant insights for physicians. You will also operate in an environment of non-reimbursed medications, where careful, compliant, consistent and transparent communication is essential.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of Field Medical strategic plans based on your patient-centric mindset, in-field insights and identified unmet medical needs or evidence gaps.
  • Driving the roll-out and tactical execution of the Field Medical Strategic plans.
  • Identifying, building and maintaining strong collaborations with current and future KOLs/HCPs and other relevant stakeholders in obesity care and private clinics.
  • Leading scientific exchange with healthcare professionals, especially within specialised obesity care, and translating the latest data into actionable clinical insights.
  • Ensuring medical and scientific communication is consistent, compliant and of high quality.
  • Contributing to and aligning with cross-functional colleagues across Clinical Operations, Medical Education and Market Access.

Your new department

As part of International Operations, you will join our largest operational unit. Covering 194 countries and 95% of the world's population, more than 18,000 of us work passionately to serve 35 million patients each day. With a promise to outperform the competition, we continue to be the growth driver for Novo Nordisk, and to improve health at scale across the globe.

Within our Dutch affiliate, Medical Affairs sits within the Medical & Regulatory (MR) department and is responsible for the medical and scientific dialogue supporting the appropriate use of innovative treatments. The team is divided between an office-based group of Medical Advisors and a field medical advisor team, all sharing the same passion and commitment to improving patients' lives. In this role, you will report into the Manager Field Medical Advisors.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for a scientifically curious, proactive professional who thrives in a cross-functional environment and is energised by the dynamics of a complex, fast-moving therapy area. To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • A Master's degree in Life Sciences; preferably Medical Doctor, PhD or PharmD.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within obesity healthcare; experience in private healthcare is a plus.
  • Medical-scientific expertise within the relevant therapeutic area – obesity and/or cardiovascular care with a proven ability to translate in-depth scientific knowledge into daily clinical practice and to present data with credibility.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, a team-player mindset and proven ability to work in a cross-functional matrix; result-driven with a proactive, 'can do' approach.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken) and willingness to travel within The Netherlands.
