Your new role
As Director of Sales Effectiveness, you will lead the creation and execution of a unified IO-wide framework that strengthens sales force performance, drives data-informed decisions, and ensures best practices are scaled across markets. Partnering closely with affiliates and regional teams, you will identify improvement opportunities, foster collaboration, and deliver measurable impact on commercial performance.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement a standardised IO-wide sales effectiveness framework covering segmentation & targeting implementation, territory management, call plans, training/coaching etc.
- Identify and address local sales force effectiveness gaps through targeted analysis and improvement plans.
- Share best practices across affiliates and regions to drive consistent execution.
- Analyse sales performance metrics to uncover trends and guide strategic decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align sales strategies with marketing and customer engagement initiatives.
- Promote knowledge sharing to scale successful approaches across the organisation.
- Ensure all initiatives are future-ready and adapted to evolving customer engagement landscapes.
Your new department
As a key driver of Novo Nordisk’s future growth, International Operations (IO) is the largest operational unit in Novo Nordisk and covers more than 190 countries and 95% of the world’s population. Around 430 million people are living with diabetes in these countries and an estimated 570 million live with obesity. We serve 25 million people each day living with chronic diseases. Novo Nordisk International Operations, Strategic Operations, is head quartered in Zürich, Switzerland. Sales Effectiveness is anchored in the Cardiometabolic Marketing team and works closely with the regions and key IO markets to drive the growth of the GLP-1 portfolio.

Your skills & qualifications
We are seeking a strategic, results-driven leader who can elevate sales effectiveness through data-driven decisions, commercial insight, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will combine deep industry experience with innovative problem-solving skills to deliver measurable impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in sales effectiveness, commercial marketing, or sales management (pharma/healthcare industry experience strongly preferred).
- Proven record in leading teams and driving sales performance improvements.
- Strong analytical skills to translate data into actionable strategies.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities
