Your new role

As Commercial Director, you will define brand objectives, oversee marketing initiatives, and drive impactful launch strategies in close collaboration with regional and affiliate teams. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring world-class brand execution and market expansion while aligning global ambitions with local market needs.

 

Main responsibilities will include to:

 

  • Define and monitor brand performance KPIs for diabetes brands, identifying gaps and leading mitigation strategies in collaboration with regional partners

 

  • Develop and execute marketing plans and tactics, ensuring they are impactful, aligned with business objectives, and tailored to local market dynamics

 

  • Coordinate regional and affiliate inputs to deliver cohesive campaigns, tactical plans, and impactful presence at key congresses

 

  • Design and implement launch readiness frameworks to ensure successful product introductions and indication expansions across IO markets

 

  • Lead cross-regional strategic initiatives aimed at accelerating brand growth, including launch prioritisation, market strategies, and innovative campaign development

 

As a central figure in shaping the future of our diabetes portfolio, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across marketing, medical, commercial, and strategic operations to deliver best-in-class brand strategies and launches. This role offers the opportunity to make a global impact—driving growth, innovation, and improved patient outcomes across diverse markets—while laying the foundation for future progression into leadership positions.

 

While this position does not include direct people management responsibilities, it offers significant visibility and exposure across the organisation, making it an excellent stepping stone for future leadership and career growth within our global marketing structure.

 

Please note that, although this role is based in Zurich, we are also open to evaluate candidates in the Copenhagen area.

 

Your new department

You will be part of the Medical & Marketing team at Novo Nordisk. This department plays a critical role in driving innovative marketing strategies and ensuring seamless collaboration across teams. The position is based in Zurich or Copenhagen, where you will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Our team is dedicated to fostering cohesive strategies and bridging efforts between International Operations and Strategic Operations to drive unified outcomes. Your skills & qualifications

We’re looking for a new Director for Diabetes Commercial who demonstrates the ability to craft and communicate a compelling vision for the brand, aligning marketing strategies with broader organisational goals.

To succeed in this role, you:

  • Hold an academic degree in Marketing, Business Administration or similar
  • Have at least 8 years’ experience primarily in marketing, preferably at affiliate as well as consolidation unit or global
  • Have a proven track record in brand strategy, product launches, and market analysis
  • Are proficient in analysing market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats
  • Are fully proficient in English, both written and spoken

It will be seen as an advantage if you have gained pharmaceutical and diabetes related experience.

 

On a personal level, you possess a strong ability to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, also bringing creativity and innovation to marketing campaigns, product launches, and brand strategies.
You thrive in dynamic environments, quickly adapting to changing market conditions and organisational priorities and can proactively identifies challenges and implements effective solutions.
