The Position

The Logistics Associate will provide multi-faceted support to Materials, Quality, Warehouse, and functions.  Daily routines will consist of providing direct support to materials and warehouse operations and internal business partners.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for coordinating imports:
    -Tracking of shipments, communication with carriers, scheduling deliveries, and notification to warehouse
    -Process customs release of imported goods


  • Manage push system for moving materials into manufacturing areas
  • Coordinate with other departments to maintain inventory.
  • Manage department training program

         - Coordinate the development of training materials

         - Assist in planning and budgeting of training activities

         - Coordinate and deliver basic SAP training for site

  • Develop and report Materials KPIs
  • Manage stock count program for plant 4212 & 4210:

          - Produce counts, investigate differences, and reconcile differences

  • Materials obsolescence review and disposition
  • Assist and support change management and deviation response.
  • Support system for providing kits to Manufacturing/Facilities
  • Analyze and assess physical material flows
  • Provide backup for shipping, receiving, and warehouse team (product shipments/large receipts/vacations/absences)
  • Manage and support projects as required
  • Provide support during regulatory and financial audits
  • Perform all other duties or tasks as required
  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and industry codes.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements and working environment:

  • The ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, and walk.
  • The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, and grasp.
  • The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication.
  •  Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers.
  •  Lifting up to 33 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  •  Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; operating a motor vehicle or heavy equipment, and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
  • The working environment includes a variety of physical conditions, working in narrow aisles, and temperature changes.



  • Education and Certifications
    • High School diploma; Associates Degree or some college-level courses preferred
  • Work Experience
    • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in warehouse or materials functions, preferably in a Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry setting or three (3) years of experience with Associates degree or higher, in business or supply chain related field
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good presentation skills a plus
    • Excellent analytical and computer skills including Excel and material management systems
    • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in a warehouse ERP system; SAP preferred
    • Knowledge of Biotech/Pharmaceutical production supply chain principles and cGMPs preferred
    • Proven process improvement and problem-solving skills
    • Able to develop and manage action plans to achieve targets
