The Position

This position is responsible for supporting building utility systems and related equipment. This position will also follow the Maintenance Management schedule to ensure all maintenance task are completed on time and in compliance with standard operating procedures.


Essential Functions

  • Perform daily checks on all building utility systems
  • Perform basic trouble shooting, repair and maintenance of facilities related systems, including:
  • Plant Steam Systems and Hot Water Heating Systems
  • HVAC Systems
  • Chillers and Chilled Water Systems
  • Compressed Air Systems
  • Domestic Water Systems
  • Maintenance Management System data in-put and operation to ensure all scheduled maintenance task are completed on time and in compliance with SOP’s
  • Perform building repairs
  • Available for “On-Call” as required
  • Complete all paperwork in a GMP compliant manner
  • Perform all other duties or tasks as required
  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes
  • Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others


Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required. The ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, and walk. The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, feel, and grasp. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers. Lifting up to 33lbs/15kg of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations. The working environment includes a variety of physical conditions including: noise, vibration, inside and outside conditions including temperature changes, extreme cold, and extreme heat; proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The working environment frequently includes close quarters and narrow aisles or passageways.



  • Education and Certifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in facility equipment / system maintenance
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing
    • Possess basic reading, math, and comprehension skills
    • Ability to work with a group and independently
    • Knowledge of proper use of hand tools
    • Basic mechanical aptitude
    • Previous experience in clean room and GMP applications preferred
