Payroll, Time & Benefits Manager

Department: Payroll, Time & Benefits, People, Organisation & Corporate Affairs

Location: Warsaw, Poland

Your impact begins here

As Payroll, Time & Benefits Manager, you will own payroll, time and benefits delivery for EMEA countries from our Regional Service Centre in Warsaw. As we transform how these services run across EMEA, you will lead a skilled team, steer country transitions and make processes simpler, smarter and more automated. Your work makes sure colleagues are paid accurately and on time, so they can stay focused on work that helps people living with serious chronic diseases.

What you’ll bring

You’re an experienced payroll leader who combines tight control with curiosity about how things could work better. You’ll bring:

  • A master’s degree in Business, Economics, HR or a related field, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years’ experience across HR, payroll, tax, or compensation and benefits, including work with payroll systems and providers.
  • People-management experience, with a track record of coaching and developing people while building accountability and trust.
  • Experience in a shared service centre and a multi-country environment, and knowledge of EMEA regulations, practices and cultural differences.
  • Proven experience leading country transitions or payroll implementations through operational readiness, go-live and stabilisation.
  • Experience governing outsourced providers, including service performance, risk, controls and business continuity.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with sound judgement and a high degree of personal integrity.
  • Clear, well-considered communication and the ability to influence stakeholders with different interests, from senior leaders to employee representatives.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, knowledge of another European language would be an additional advantage

What you’ll do

You’ll be fully responsible for payroll, time and benefits across your country portfolio, balancing reliable day-to-day delivery with the transformation ahead:

  • Lead and develop a team of experienced specialists, setting clear priorities, roles and decision rights, and securing backup coverage, capacity and succession.
  • Ensure salaries and related services are processed accurately and on time, in line with agreements, policies and local laws, and own an effective payroll control environment, from reconciliations and segregation of duties to audit evidence and corrective actions.
  • Lead country transitions and implementations from assessment and process design through testing, go-live, hypercare and stabilisation, and give evidence-based go-live recommendations.
  • Drive standardisation, simplification and automation in line with the global PTB model, using KPIs to show real gains in quality, customer experience, risk reduction and efficiency.
  • Act as operational owner of payroll, time & attendance and benefits providers, managing SLAs, escalations and service recovery, and bringing country expertise to provider selection and contract discussions.
  • Turn the EMEA transformation roadmap into country outcomes, flagging dependencies, readiness gaps and risks early, and building evidence-based capacity plans.

Who you’ll work with

You’ll report to the Associate Director, Payroll, Time & Benefits. As well as leading your own team, you’ll contribute actively to the PTB Leadership Team and work with PTB teams in other regions to keep ways of working aligned globally.

You’ll partner with General Managers, P&O Directors, Finance and Legal, as well as employees and managers. You’ll also work closely with RSC Rest of EMEA management, askHR, Local P&O, the Total Rewards Centre of Excellence, Global Payroll & Time, Internal Controls, Global Mobility, Procurement and Enterprise IT.

Externally, you’ll work with tax authorities, auditors, and payroll, time & attendance, benefits and pension providers. Clear service boundaries and straightforward communication keep this network moving at pace, and show that payroll is in control.

What you can expect here

This role comes with real ownership. You’ll make operational decisions within a clear mandate, decide where your team’s effort goes, and be trusted to escalate or pause activity when payroll, compliance or employee risk is at stake. Your voice will count in the PTB Leadership Team and in cross-regional initiatives, where you may represent Rest of EMEA.

You’ll build new skills across transformation, vendor governance and the responsible use of automation, analytics and AI, working with colleagues across countries and functions. Clear KPIs and performance expectations mean you’ll know what good looks like, and see the difference your work makes.
