Your impact begins here

As Marketing Senior Manager, you will shape how Novo engages people and healthcare professionals in Austria, from first awareness through to starting and staying on treatment. You will turn consumer and market insight into marketing strategies and campaigns that deliver measurable results, and lead the teams and partners who bring them to life. Your work helps more people living with serious chronic diseases find relevant information and support today.

What you’ll bring

You are a marketer who combines strategic thinking with strong execution, and who can bring people together to get things done.

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing, business, communications, life sciences or a related field.
  • Significant experience in consumer marketing, brand marketing, digital marketing, omnichannel engagement or consumer experience, including responsibility for integrated strategy and execution.
  • A track record of turning insight into measurable marketing strategies, campaigns, launches or consumer engagement initiatives.
  • Experience owning a budget, managing agencies, measuring performance and engaging senior stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of consumer paths, digital ecosystems, media, analytics, experimentation and marketing effectiveness.
  • Experience leading people, project teams or complex cross-functional initiatives in a matrix environment.
  • The ability to turn complex scientific, technical or business information into clear, accessible communication.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and German.

Useful, but not essential:

  • Experience in pharmaceuticals, consumer health, FMCG, retail, e-commerce or another regulated consumer environment.
  • Experience with patient engagement, healthcare professional marketing, e-health, strategic partnerships or business development.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical promotional governance, data privacy and relevant Austrian and European requirements.
  • Experience with Veeva Vault PromoMats or a similar content review and approval system.

What you’ll do

You will own the marketing direction for Austria and make sure it delivers for people, for healthcare professionals and for the business.

  • Define and lead an integrated consumer and healthcare professional marketing strategy, with a clear roadmap, investment choices and success measures.
  • Own the full path from awareness and consideration to activation, initiation and retention, finding the barriers and opportunities at each step and keeping the experience consistent across paid, owned, earned and partner channels.
  • Lead insight-driven campaigns, launches, content, omnichannel engagement and congress activities, with scientific accuracy, accessibility and compliance built in.
  • Set the KPI framework and dashboards, and use analytics, A/B testing and test-and-learn to improve channel mix, content and media investment.
  • Steward the marketing and commercial excellence budget, and explore new digital, e-health and external partnerships and AI-enabled capabilities responsibly.
  • Coach and develop your team where assigned, and build consumer, digital, analytics, AI and omnichannel capabilities across the organisation.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the Marketing team in the Austrian affiliate, part of International Operations, and report to the Commercial Director. In International Operations, colleagues work across markets to serve people around the world and help improve health at scale.

Based in Vienna, you will lead through influence in a matrix. Your closest partners will be colleagues in Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal and Compliance, Market Access, Corporate Affairs, Patient Engagement, Sales, Analytics and Finance, alongside regional and global marketing teams, agencies and external partners. You will bring these perspectives together, make decisions and dependencies clear, and keep execution moving at pace. You will also represent the consumer perspective in leadership, brand and planning forums.

What you can expect here

You will be trusted to own a broad, visible mandate and held to clear performance expectations. You will be supported to perform at your best, with room to make your voice heard in the forums where decisions are made. You will grow by leading across functions, building new skills and sharing what you learn, including in digital, data and AI, where Novo is upskilling its workforce to advance AI for the benefit of people living with serious chronic diseases.
