Your new role
You are an enterprise leader to lead our Commercial Business Unit, where you are expected to shape strategic direction, drive robust growth, and inspire high-performing teams across sales, marketing, and commercial effectiveness functions. You are a strong leader with proven commercial acumen, capable of interpreting complex market dynamics and translating them into strategic initiatives with solid business results. You are driven by the challenge of fostering innovation and excellence across multiple functions. In this role, you will report directly to the General Manager and be a member of the Novo Nordisk Austria Leadership Team. This position is office-based and located in Vienna, Austria, requiring presence at the office five days a week.
Your main responsibilities will include to:
- Define and execute innovative commercial strategies that capitalize on growth opportunities and enhance our market presence, positioning the affiliate for long-term success.
- Manage budget planning and P&L performance, ensuring accurate forecasting, scenario analysis, and the development of comprehensive business cases that drive sustainable profitability.
- Inspire and align diverse commercial functions through solid enterprise leadership—including marketing, sales, brand management, and operations—towards the achievement of common objectives, fostering a unified team dynamic.
- Spearhead new product launches and brand development initiatives by leveraging insightful market analysis to maximize impact and strengthen competitive advantage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to cultivate trust, facilitating collaboration and driving accelerated business growth.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships and business development opportunities that establish the company as a leading force in the market.
- Inspire and develop high-performing teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and ethical conduct in all business practices.

Your skills & qualifications

Your qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial leadership roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement forward-thinking commercial strategies that align with organizational goals and respond effectively to market shifts.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in managing and inspiring cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious targets while fostering a collaborative culture.
- Proven expertise in financial management, including budget oversight, P&L accountability, and the ability to create and analyze robust business cases.
- Deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape, with the ability to leverage insights for strategic decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners, stakeholders, and customers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in navigating challenges and seizing opportunities.
- Commitment to upholding ethical business practices and promoting compliance within all commercial activities.

Novo Nordisk Austrian affiliate belongs to Business Area South & West, which is part of the broader Region Europe and Canada (EUCAN). It is a rapidly expanding and dynamic organization of 60 employees dedicated to solidifying Novo Nordisk’s market presence through the launch of innovative products and enhancing patient access.
