Your new role
As Therapeutic Area Senior Manager, you will set the direction for clinical trial activities within your therapeutic area, focusing on how studies are executed, optimised, and aligned with global counterparts. Leading a team of four Project Managers, you will translate strategy into executable plans while developing the capabilities of the people around you.
Day-to-day your tasks will include:
- Defining the therapeutic area strategy at population level – including study selection, study type and scope – in close dialogue with our research centres
- Driving strategic discussions with investigator sites and ensuring alignment with Global R&D priorities
- Allocating resources effectively to manage the volume and complexity of studies across the therapeutic area
- Translating strategic priorities into clear, executable plans and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery
- Acting as a key point of connection between local execution and global strategy, representing Trial Operations in cross-functional forums
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of four Project Managers, fostering skills growth and high performance
Your new department
Within R&D, our Trial Operations team is the engine behind our clinical studies – turning scientific ambition into real-world evidence. We work hand-in-hand with research centres, investigators and global colleagues to deliver high-quality trials that bring new therapies one step closer to patients. In this role, you will play a defining part in shaping how we run clinical research within your therapeutic area.
Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for an experienced people leader with a strong clinical research background and the strategic mindset to shape how we operate at therapeutic area level. To succeed in this role, you'll bring with you:
- Solid experience in Clinical Research, including leading teams in trial operations or related areas (mandatory) – gained from a CRO, pharmaceutical company, or hospital/research institution
- A degree in Health Sciences or a related field
- Advanced level of English, both written and spoken (mandatory)
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate therapeutic area priorities into actionable plans and resource decisions
- Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with research centres, investigators and global functions
