Lead the scientific and strategic medical agenda across Novo Nordisk’s key therapeutic areas, shaping how evidence, innovation and medical excellence translate into meaningful healthcare impact. As a member of the Senior Management team, you will play a pivotal role in connecting science, regulation and quality with the broader business strategy, ensuring strong scientific leadership, regulatory compliance and high standards of quality across the affiliate.

Your new role
This is a high-impact position where strategic medical leadership meets commercial transformation. With approximately 70% of your focus on Medical Affairs, you’ll address one of healthcare’s most pressing challenges: raising awareness of obesity and enabling patients to access effective, safe treatments that can genuinely improve their lives. You'll be the vital connector between scientific evidence and commercial priorities, translating complex medical data into compelling narratives for new audiences and formats.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Drive the scientific narrative around obesity treatment, increasing awareness among healthcare professionals and stakeholders that effective and safe solutions exist
  • Translate scientific evidence into actionable commercial strategies, orchestrating messages for diverse audiences through innovative digital channels and formats
  • Define and execute the affiliate MRQ strategy across short, medium and long-term horizons, aligned with global and regional priorities
  • Take ultimate responsibility for MRQ KPIs, project prioritization, and alignment with Business Area and Corporate strategy
  • Build, develop and inspire high-performing teams, ensuring talent development, succession planning and capability building across MRQ
  • Oversee Medical Managers across therapeutic areas (Cardiometabolic and Rare Diseases) and drive innovation in medical communication and content governance
  • Act as a key member of the Affiliate Senior Management team, shaping strategic direction and acting as spokesperson to media when representing MRQ matters
  • Ensure overall compliance and quality standards in each area (Medical, Regulatory and Quality), safeguarding patient safety and regulatory integrity

Your new department

Within this dynamic environment, the MRQ team plays a vital strategic role at the affiliate level. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team dedicated to scientific excellence, regulatory compliance and quality assurance—ensuring that our innovative treatments reach patients safely and effectively. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of changing perceptions around obesity, working closely with Key Opinion Leaders, health authorities, and cross-functional partners to drive MRQ competencies and alignment across the affiliate, while pioneering new ways to communicate science that drives business results.

We're seeking an accomplished leader who combines deep scientific expertise with strategic business acumen and a passion for advancing patient care. We expect you to bring the following skills to the position:

  • Medical degree (mandatory) and MBA (desirable)
