Disease and Product Communication Manager

Key areas of responsibility


This role is externally focused and as a key ambassador for Novo Nordisk, and will be responsible for strengthening, developing communication and influencing external and public environment within the healthcare industry.
To support key disease areas: diabetes, ASCVD, obesity, hemophilia and growth hormone deficiency care, and product-related communication for Novo Nordisk while also enhancing the reputation of our company with external stakeholders incl. HCPs, patients, customers, caregivers, medical associations payers, health authorities, media, agencies and general public.

• Create Novo Nordisk’s disease & product communication strategy and communication plans as per the business strategy, and execute on them
• Developing, coordinating and implementing an annual communication editorial calendar, content, and storyline through all communication channels and materials for establishing coherent external messaging, diseases’ share of voice and brand equity.
• Arranging media events, interviews, disease educational events, issuing press releases and compiling press kits
• Engage external stakeholders and seek influence through resonant messages and clear communication positions. Contribute to stakeholder perception of Novo Nordisk as a leader in diabetes, ASCVD, obesity, hemophilia and growth hormone deficiency care
• Support new product launch(s) and disease day(s) related communication. Creating disease awareness and product-related communication materials
• Support company in external strategic policy shaping and treatment/reimbursement guidelines discussions
• Monitor and document external changes and trends (incl. policy change and media, public voice, competitors’ communication activities). Use information to identify risks and/or opportunities and propose strategic response actions
• Support in issues management

Main job tasks


• Developing and maintaining communication strategy covering all therapy areas and the complete product portfolio’s value propositions in a consistent and qualitative way for ensuring maximum SoV and traction. Also ensure all strategies and messaging aligns with key business strategies
• Defining key disease and product-related targets and quality metrics for communications initiatives and reviewing and evaluating results upon completion of the activities.
• Conduct Novo Nordisk communication activities using media events, fairs, online campaigns, print media, and other communications vehicles for promoting diseases, products, devices, and services.
• Identifying, and selecting external communications service agencies and defining quality and delivery targets for externally assigned activities, monitoring ongoing progress, and resolving issues.
• (Together with agency partners) Produce high-quality, informative articles, videos, patient stories, case studies, press releases, radio, customer/patient presentations, advertisements, podcasts, collaterals, press kits…etc. in traditional and new media formats/channels (print and digital format)
• Maintain good relationship with KOLs/KOIs/medical associations/patient groups
• Develop quarterly and annual media activity monitor reports
• Collaborate with Marketing/Market Access/Sales/Medical/Patient Support teams to ensure quality of tactics execution and good alignment with company strategy
• Ensure messages/campaigns/programmes cascaded from Novo Nordisk HQ/regional communication function are well-delivered both internally and externally
• Represent Novo Nordisk Taiwan in relevant media, health authority, medial associations, patient groups, and governmental agencies’ forums.

Qualification

 

• Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in media, journalism, communication, public relations, advertising, medicine/health, business, or other-related;
• Strong in both English and Chinese writing, speaking, reading and listening skills.
• Additional vocational training in linguistics, psychology and media studies is a plus, although not a must
• Professional and proven:
At least 5-8 years of pharma-related product, disease communication, media experience required
• Solid experience in brand communication and media relations
• Experience in traditional and new multi/social-media, and digital communication
• Experience in creating company communication strategy & plan, and executing critical communication tactics
• PR & communication agency management
• Knowledge in diabetes, ASCVD obesity, hemophilia and growth hormone deficiency care is plus
• Strong KOL stakeholder management
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Good analytical skills, creativity, teamwork, proofreading and presentation skills
• Ability to work with tight deadlines
• Positive working attitude, and love to‘have fun’ in the office!
