Commercial Excellence Director

Summary of the role
The Commercial Excellence Director will drive the overall affiliate Commercial Excellence strategy and the programs that enhance our overall commercial excellence & customer experience designed to ensure we effectively engage with HCPs. The Commercial Excellence Director is expected to have a cross-functional view (Sales/ Marketing/ Commercial effectiveness, CRM (Customer relationship management) ) and to act as a central franchise and company champion at all times.
This role will be driving continuous digital innovations throughout the commercial organization. Furthermore, (s)he will identify, design, and execute integrated data analytics to develop new insights & meaningful recommendations, and influence Line of Business at all levels to incorporate in decision making, such as marketing and sales strategy and tactics. The Commercial Excellence Director is also required to drive critical customer engagement / commercial excellence / MCE initiatives including but not limited to CRM system, sales incentive scheme and front-line sales capabilities. The role will ensure optimal usage of CRM system(which among others include maintaining detailed knowledge of all aspects of projects linked to CRM system, establishing ways to leverage and/ or improve usage of CRM system, and recommending the use of CRM system and data to improve customer experience),
This role will also be responsible for working on a cross functional basis ensuring that all stakeholder/ customer needs and perspectives are considered, ensuring that local plans & tactics are prioritised to achieve desired goal.
Assigned responsibilities related to position requires travel and flexible working hours as the activities are executed in accordance with the stakeholders’/ company’s’ available places, times and the timelines of meetings.
Job Description
- Leads and empowers the team in customer engagement, commercial excellence, SFE, frontline training, and business development
- Leads the design and the implementation of a roadmap of HCP engagement strategy by involving cross functional teams and using commercial insights
- Develops and is accountable for an effective exchange of information and insights between the market and the sales heads resulting in measurable improvements
- Develops strategies that increase customer engagement and work cross-functionally to ensure that promotional materials are relevant and impactful for the local market and specific target
- Drives the planning and roll-out of frontline training with meaningful measures in place to demonstrate impact of the programs on the affiliate business
- Develops and implements prioritized local cross-functional projects at affiliate level and on the key accounts
- Supports and shares digital business tools throughout the commercial organization
- Supports commercial partners with strategy, tactical planning as well as sales forecasting and tracking tasks
- Oversees the initiation and liaison with strategic partners including potential co-promotors and other type of commercial collaboration
- Collaborates with marketing and sales team in preparing launch, and maximizes in-line brands, and comes up with strategy and solutions
- Supervises and motivates the team to ensure the correct strategic direction and tactical implementation of local policies in line with Corporate requirements and guidelines
- Ensures the reporting of the market information and competitor activities on a monthly basis are collected and evaluated
- Leads, manages, and develops direct reports through NNWay of Coaching. Develops team ensuring high performance mind-set according to NN processes (talk2grow, IDP)
- Acts as coach and/or mentor to direct reports, builds systematic and strategic relationships with key internal stakeholders, cascades strategic plans and ensures follow up on tactical functional plans, promotes and engages in cross-functional and cross-geographical collaborations and best practice sharing
- Works according to business ethic procedures, local law, NNWay and NN policies and guidelines
Education requirements
- Minimum Master’s degree or equivalent, in life science, business administration or relevant
- Fluent in English
Work experience
- 10 years of sales & marketing / commercial excellence in pharmaceutical industry
- Minimum 5 years of people leading experience
- Experience in multichannel/digital customer engagement, design and delivery of multichannel tactics at local level, with proven success track record in pharmaceutical industry (or as service provider to the industry)
