Qualifications (minimum requirements)

Education:

Master, PharmD, MD, or PhD in a medically related field (life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine related)

Professional experience:

  • 1-3+ years of experience as an MSL, in Medical Affairs, or possessing a strong clinical research background.
  • Proven ability to engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals.
  • Exceptional ability to critically analyze and interpret scientific literature and clinical data.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data into compelling clinical narratives.
  • Strong customer/patient centric and science based
  • Solutions orientated, anticipates opportunities, challenges and offers solutions
  • Good presentation skills in both scientific and non-scientific fields
  • Digital agility and a keen understanding of current medical interaction trends across social media platforms.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and project management capabilities.
  • Fluent English at communication

Main job tasks:   

1. KOL Engagement & Insight Generation

  • Bi-directional Scientific Exchange: Plan and execute high-frequency field visits to engage KOLs in deep, peer-to-peer discussions regarding disease mechanisms, the latest clinical data, and treatment guidelines.
  • Data Communication & Clinical Consensus: Effectively communicate complex scientific data to target Healthcare Professionals, addressing clinical hesitations to build confidence in the product's efficacy and safety, ultimately supporting the integration of new therapeutic options into their prescribing behaviors.
  • Actionable Insight Reporting: Systematically collect and analyze clinical feedback from KOLs regarding unmet clinical needs, practical treatment experiences, and competitive landscapes. Relay these actionable insights to cross-functional teams to shape and refine medical and brand strategies.

 

2. Medical Education Support (MEDTalk)

  • Tailored Scientific Communication: Serve as the internal clinical expert and speaker for cross-functional educational seminars (MEDTalks). Thoroughly assess the audience's clinical background, medical educational goals, and evidence-based data to deliver objective, highly relevant, and scientifically rigorous presentations.
  • Speaker Briefing & Material Development: Collaborate with external speakers prior to events to align on scientific objectives and compliance boundaries. Assist in developing, reviewing, or optimizing slide decks to ensure scientific accuracy and strategic alignment.

 

3. DOL Engagement & Digital Strategy

  • DOL Identification & Interaction: Identify and engage DOL to establish non-promotional, scientific relationships.
  • Expanding Digital Scientific Footprint: Provide high-value, up-to-date clinical information or event invitations to spark DOL interest in specific therapeutic areas. Strictly adhering to compliance guidelines, foster organic and positive scientific exposure across digital platforms to elevate product and disease awareness.

 

4. Cross-Functional Support & Medical-Driven Events

  • Commercial/Marketing Activity Scientific Support: Act as a scientific advisor to marketing and commercial teams, supporting major events (e.g., annual congresses, product launches, internal sales training, and speaker training) by providing scientific endorsement and on-site communication.
  • Medical-Led Initiatives: Spearhead and execute Medical-driven projects from the ground up, such as specialized webinars and offline expert forums. Manage the entire process—from theme ideation and speaker invitation to agenda planning and on-site coordination—ensuring rapid dissemination of the latest scientific updates to target physicians.

 

5. Scientific Expertise & Compliance Maintenance

  • Continuously monitor and review the latest domestic and international literature, clinical trial results, and treatment guidelines to maintain top-tier scientific expertise in the assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from healthcare professionals in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
  • Ensure all internal and external scientific exchanges, material generation, and event preparations strictly adhere to internal SOPs and local pharmaceutical regulations

Other individual assignments:

  • Active participation in internal corporate initiatives, cross-functional working groups, or specialized task forces to foster an inclusive and supportive corporate culture.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all field interactions and actionable insights into the IO Engage system.
  • Assist in the onboarding process, field-riding, and scientific mentorship of new Medical Affairs colleagues or commercial team members.

The competency levels and expected abilities assigned to MSL, Sr. MSL, and Assoc MSL Manager are as follows: MSL should demonstrate basic competency, Sr. MSL should be skilled, and Assoc MSL Manager should possess expert-level proficiency.
