The Position
The position of Senior Medical Advisor is an essential part of the Medical Affairs team, focused on furthering scientific exchange between the company and the medical community, with a specific emphasis on the development of medical strategy, development of high-quality educational programs, Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement strategy, advisory board execution and publication planning.

This position requires:

  • Medical Strategy - Development of medical strategy in identified new therapy areas, particularly in cardiovascular.
  • KOL Engagement - Identification of KOLs and development of relationships and speaker engagements, development and conducting of advisory boards, and communication of relevant scientific and clinical data.
  • Publication Planning - Creation of the affiliate publication plan, presentation of publications at national and international conferences, as well as engagement of external authors.
  • Medical Education - Develop and implement the affiliate medical education strategy. Review of all sales-led medical education meetings and accredited medical education. Attendance at conferences and congresses.
  • Medical Guidance - Adaptation of global medical strategy for incorporation into the affiliate brand strategy, including the creation of medical activity plans. Conduct internal training. Translation of scientific information for internal stakeholders to assist with the development and implementation of strategy.

 

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in life sciences, a medical degree (MD) or a postgraduate qualification in pharmacy is desired.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in medical affairs, ideally with Medical Advisor experience.
  • Industry or clinical experience relevant to the company's therapeutic interests in endocrinology and diabetes in particular, is preferred.
  • Experience in cardiovascular therapy area is essential.
  • Familiarity with Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and other regulatory guidelines is required. Must either be an Australian Citizen or have a current residency Visa to live and work in Australia.
