Senior Manager, Medical Operations

Where operational excellence meets life-changing science—lead the systems that enable high-quality medical education, information, and project delivery across Oceania.

Your new role

As Senior Manager, Medical Operations, you'll be the operational leader ensuring medical activities are delivered with precision, compliance, and impact. You'll lead core functions within our Medical, Regulatory & Pharmacovigilance organisation, strengthening operational excellence while supporting cross-functional alignment. This is a role where your ability to bring structure and continuous improvement will directly enable better outcomes for healthcare professionals and patients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing end-to-end planning, execution and monitoring of medical projects, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and resource allocations are consistently met
  • Leading and developing the Medical Information team to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant responses to healthcare professional and customer enquiries, while maintaining scientific content repositories
  • Providing strategic direction and oversight to the Medical Education Manager, ensuring high-quality, compliant medical education initiatives align with Medical Affairs strategy and therapeutic priorities
  • Partnering with Medical Advisors, MSLs, Regulatory, Clinical, and Commercial teams to support delivery of medical plans and cross-functional initiatives
  • Implementing project governance frameworks, tracking progress against milestones, and escalating risks appropriately
  • Providing leadership and workload oversight to the Business Unit Coordinator, ensuring smooth logistical and administrative support across medical meetings, advisory boards, and operational documentation
  • Driving continuous improvement in medical operations through standardisation, process optimisation, and best practice sharing

Your new department

In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.

You will be joining the Novo Nordisk Medical Affairs team, part of the Oceania Medical, Regulatory & Pharmacovigilance (MRPV) Department. The team plays a crucial role in driving strategic development and execution, providing insights to shape business decisions, leading scientific exchanges to support high-quality education, and identifying evidence gaps for key stakeholders. The MRPV Department ensures the success of a growing diabetes portfolio—encompassing both established and pipeline products—and works closely under the leadership of the Senior Director, Medical, Regulatory Affairs & Pharmacovigilance.

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for an operationally excellent leader who thrives in bringing structure, quality and continuous improvement to complex medical operations. You'll bring with you:

  • Extensive experience in medical operations, medical affairs, or pharmaceutical project management, with proven ability to lead multiple operational workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong leadership capability with experience developing and coaching teams, particularly in medical information or similar healthcare functions
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively across Medical Advisors, MSLs, Regulatory, Commercial and external healthcare professionals
  • Strategic mindset combined with operational rigour—you can see the big picture while ensuring flawless execution of the details
  • Tertiary qualification in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or related healthcare discipline; additional project management or business qualifications would be highly valued
