As Communications Manager, you will report directly to the Public Affairs Manager and will be part of the Patient Access, Public Affairs and Policy team. You will be a key member of cross functional teams and business units across the organisation. We are based in a brand-new office in North Sydney and you will be working with more than 50 engaged people all helping to drive change and contribute to the shared responsibilities in policy, education, awareness and treatments.



The Position


In this role, you will assume the day-to-day responsibilities of planning and execution of external communications and public relations activities to improve disease awareness and corporate reputation among the general public and health care professionals in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, vendors and agencies.


Key accountabilities include:


  • Plan and implement disease awareness communication campaigns (for example World Obesity Day, World Diabetes Day), including administration and budget management, and execute corporate communications activities driving awareness of Novo Nordisk contributions to improving the lives of people living with chronic disease and executive leadership external communications and profiling. 
  • Develop and disseminate content and materials (including press releases, background materials, publications and digital content for social media and website) for media and the public while ensuring that all content complies with relevant legal and regulatory standards and is aligned with the company culture and brand.
  • Monitor and analyse the media environment, including daily media monitoring and trade publications, to identify opportunities and create insights relevant to the business; liaise with media, both proactively and reactively, issues management and preparation of issues management plans, and support Public Affairs Manager to execute public affairs activities on Novo Nordisk’s initiatives and contributions to improve the lives of people living with chronic diseases.
  • Closely collaborate with People & Operations (P&O) to ensure internal communications efforts are consistent with the organisation's strategic vision and mission as and when needed; assist the Novo Nordisk Customer Care team to address external enquiries appropriately and aligned with company culture and Novo Nordisk’s initiatives and contributions.
  • As Visual Identity Expert: communicate changes to relevant stakeholders, provide advice locally and direction to current materials and VI requirements; serve as contact person between local area and corporate branding, communicating changes to relevant stakeholders; assist Novo Nordisk Content Manager in the management and administration of the company’s external website to ensure that published information is accurate and updated.





  • University degree preferably in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Business Administration or similar.
  • A minimum 2 years of work experience in the field of communications is required.
  • Experience or demonstrated knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • You are proficient in MS office applications and digital communication tools.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
