Your New Role

As Patient Journey Manager, you will play a critical role within the Cardiometabolic Marketing team, focusing on developing and optimizing end-to-end patient experiences. You will design data-driven patient activation strategies, partner disease awareness initiatives, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, measurable, and scalable solutions. This position sits at the intersection of digital transformation, stakeholder engagement, and public health impact.

We are looking for a proactive and creative professional to shape the future of patient empowerment and activation in Bulgaria, aligned with Novo Nordisk’s global mission to defeat serious chronic diseases.

The main responsibilities will be to:
Develop and implement patient activation strategies that enhance empowerment and engagement, with a focus on scalable digital solutions
Support and co-lead disease awareness campaigns, ensuring compliance, clinical accuracy, and collaboration with key medical, public affairs & communications and marketing teams
Coordinate cross-functional project teams and external partners, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of patient initiatives
Apply Agile methodologies to streamline projects, improve referral pathways, and accelerate time to diagnosis and treatment
Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, using data insights to optimize future strategies and improve patient experiences
Foster and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with overall strategy and project objectives

It is expected that you regularly engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the patient journey strategy is aligned with market needs.

Your New Department

The Cardiometabolic Marketing team in Bulgaria is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving our customer and patient journeys across multiple digital and physical touchpoints. These efforts involve collaboration with healthcare professionals, pharmacies, hospitals, and public institutions. The team’s work is deeply rooted in strategic insight generation, data-based planning, and the ongoing measurement and optimization of patient engagement initiatives. Our goal is to deliver digital innovation and impactful patient care solutions within the therapy areas we serve. The team is diverse, collaborative, and united by a shared commitment to improving health outcomes in Bulgaria.

Your Skills & Qualifications

You are empathetic, data-driven, and solution-oriented, with strong communication skills and a strategic mindset. You bring experience in patient engagement, marketing, and cross-functional leadership.

You are expected to hold a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, and have excellent command of written and spoken English. You’ll bring with you:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in patient/consumer engagement or marketing within a digital environment and creating, measuring and improving consumer journeys. Experience in the pharmaceutical field is considered as a plus.
Proven e-commerce experience, including managing online platforms, analysing customer behaviour, and optimizing conversion rates; familiarity with tools like eComm platforms, Google/Adobe Analytics, etc.
Solid knowledge of online marketing strategies (Search Engine Optimization, Pay per click, email marketing) and social media campaign management to boost brand awareness and engagement.
Proven track record of managing the development, implementation and continuous improvement of consumer facing digital solutions, applications or web platforms towards the end goal of user acquisition and retention.
Excellent project management skills for both internal and external resources, especially external technical teams
