Contract Specialist
Negotiate contracts that open the door to groundbreaking clinical trials, bringing hope to patients with obesity, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular diseases and liver conditions.
Your new role
As a Contract Specialist, you will manage and execute the start-up activities related to contracting of sites, Investigators and SMOs in allocated clinical trials. Your work ensures compliance with local regulations, Novo Nordisk procedures and protocol requirements to deliver reliable, high-quality data and study subject protection—activating sites prior to First Patient First Visit in the country. You will establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders that drive trial success.
Your main accountabilities will be:
- Managing commercial and contractual relationships with Investigators, SMOs and clinical sites to meet timelines and demands of assigned clinical trials
- Negotiating contract language and budget directly with clinical sites and Investigators in line with previously accepted parameters
- Interacting independently with Investigators, clinical site staff, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Supporting the payment process to sites in case of business needs
- Escalating changes to legal language and budget requests to appropriate stakeholders where required
Your new department
The Bulgaria CDC department is poised for growth as it embarks on the establishment of a Clinical Development Centre as well as expanding its Clinical medical collaboration roles. This expansion is focusing on the preparation of new therapy areas for Novo Nordisk, including chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disease and liver conditions. With a strong commitment to advancing healthcare, this department is at the forefront of pioneering innovative solutions for these challenging medical conditions.
Your skills & qualifications
To be successful in this role, you need a proven background in clinical contracts administration combined with a team-oriented personality and strong attention to detail. You'll bring with you:
- Experience in clinical contract administration and experience in clinical trials as CTA, CRA or Start-up/Clinical Contract Associate is an advantage
- Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Life Science/Law (a legal degree is a strong benefit)
- A proven background in Contracts Administration within the CRO or Pharmaceutical industry is a strong benefit
- A strong understanding of clinical contracting processes
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Team-oriented personality with high degree of flexibility and close collaboration skills to ensure successful contract execution
- Ability to work in a structured and proactive manner as part of different trial teams
- High result orientation in driving contracting milestones according to CDC KPIs
- Strong focus on details while maintaining overview and quality
- IT proficiency in MS Office and clinical trials systems
- Fluent English and Bulgarian language

For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 35,100 - 59,650 EUR corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate's skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
