About the department
The newly created, focused function of Clinical and Regulatory has been established to reflect our significant clinical footprint and our vital role in supporting the company's pipeline.

This strategic move underscores our commitment to advancing clinical development and ensuring regulatory compliance, which are essential to our success and growth. With a dedicated focus on clinical and regulatory excellence, we aim to further accelerate the introduction of our innovative treatments to patients in the region. This role reports to the Region APAC Vice President Clinical & Regulatory.

 

The position

As Senior Clinical Medical Manager you will facilitate execution of clinical trials from scientific & medical aspect across the chronic diseases portfolio of Novo Nordisk such as Cardiovascular Diseases, Chronic Kidney Disease, Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH), Alzheimer’s Disease and Inflammation. The role will provide medical/scientific expertise and advice based on interactions with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)/investigators, independent professional associations and patient advocacy associations as necessary.

  • Identify and engage KOLs clinical trial investigators and research centres: Identify and map KOLs, investigators and research centres within the relevant therapy areas and collaborate closely with clinical operations teams
  • Collect early scientific insights and guidance: Discuss relevant early development data with external medical and scientific experts. The role provides leadership in the scientific community within relevant Therapy Areas conducting advisory boards, scientific meetings, engaging with local associations for Healthcare Professional (HCPs) on relevant topics.
  • Contribute to Clinical activities: Contribute to delivering successful clinical trials (phase I-IV) in collaboration with clinical operations including driving scientific discussions throughout the trial lifecycle by performing site visits, coordinating investigator meetings, ensuring KOL inclusion in clinical trials, and engaging key investigators to communicate trial results.
  • Deliver Medical guidance: Provide timely guidance and internal training by supporting training creation and delivering training to clinical staff.
  • Scientific Communication: Position requires extensive scientific communication internally as well as externally and excellent and proactive communications skills are a necessity.

 

Qualifications

  • An MD or PhD in healthcare with a strong clinical and, preferably, research background; candidates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years in clinical practice or the pharmaceutical industry, with significant experience in human healthcare research, either in academia or the industry.
  • Expert in therapeutic area of relevance, preferably with authorship in peer-reviewed journals and understanding the specificities and nuances of the local healthcare infrastructure.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for site visits, congresses, and company events.
  • Strong presentation skills are a must, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
