About the department
The Finance & Operations (F&O) team plays a critical role in supporting the growth and efficiency of Novo Nordisk across the region. Procurement is a key function within this team, ensuring high-quality acquisition of goods and services at the best possible terms while maintaining compliance and sustainability.
This role reports to the Finance & Operations Partner, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to optimize procurement operations and drive value across the organization.
The position
As a Procurement Specialist, you will lead indirect sourcing activities for the Singapore affiliate, supporting the APAC regional office in executing sourcing activities, category strategies, and supplier relationship management. You will collaborate with stakeholders across APAC and Corporate Procurement to drive efficiency, cost savings, and compliance in procurement processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead strategic sourcing and supplier management by executing sourcing activities, negotiating contracts, and maintaining procurement SOPs to maximize value for the Singapore affiliate and APAC regional office.
- Drive procurement initiatives and compliance by aligning sourcing activities with APAC Procurement Group and Corporate Procurement, ensuring adherence to policies, and enhancing the Source-to-Pay (Coupa) system utilization.
- Support procurement projects by managing category strategy initiatives, setting savings targets, and contributing to sustainability goals such as CO2 emissions tracking.
- Engage stakeholders across all levels, including admin, managers, directors, and VPs, providing procurement expertise, conducting training, and ensuring transparent communication of procurement strategies.
- Optimize procurement processes by continuously improving sourcing efficiency, supplier performance evaluations, and risk management strategies while ensuring responsible and ethical sourcing practices.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Procurement, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with expertise in sourcing, negotiations, and category management.
- Strong analytical and project management skills, with a data-driven approach (Total Cost of Ownership) and experience in procurement systems like Coupa.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at various levels and manage multiple projects independently.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance, and contribute to regional/global procurement strategies.
