We are looking for a General Manager to lead Novo Nordisk affiliate in Singapore to its next phase of its development. You will be heading up one of our fast-growing affiliates, characterised by an ambitious, agile, and entrepreneurial culture, amid a booming and very professional healthcare system and market in Singapore.

The position 
As General Manager of Novo Nordisk Singapore, you will be a member of the leadership team of BASEA (Business Area Southeast Asia) and report to the Corporate Vice President of BASEA.  
You will oversee the entire country organization in Singapore as well as assuming commercial responsibility for Brunei. You will be setting the strategic direction to drive sustainable business growth in a dynamic and evolving healthcare landscape to ensure that both short- and long-term business objectives are met while developing an organization that adapts to future challenges. You will provide direction, oversight, and support across market access, sales and marketing, legal and administrative matters, ensuring operational excellence and long-term success for Novo Nordisk Singapore. 

 

As the affiliate’s legal representative, you are ensuring compliance with local regulatory and legal requirements, maintaining Novo Nordisk’s high ethical and quality standards. You will be responsible for P&L management and fostering a high-performance culture that prioritizes patient-centricity, innovation, and social responsibility. Additionally, as country ambassador you will cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including medical, regulatory, and payer authorities, and positioning Novo Nordisk as a trusted partner in participating shaping the future of healthcare in Singapore. 

 

In this position, you must always and at all levels ensure compliance, in accordance with the Novo Nordisk Way and our business ethics guidelines, as well as comply with all applicable laws and relevant policies. 

The position is based in Singapore. 

 

Qualifications 

  • University degree in Business Management or a relevant field; an advanced degree (MBA, MSc)  

  • 5-10 years in a leadership position. Experienced in the management of P&L and preferably managing 2nd line leaders 

  • Commercial experienced with 10+ years in pharmaceutical industry 

  • Knowledge of the cardiometabolic business is an asset 

  • Cross functional experience and/or experience of living and working internationally 

  • Worked within multiple therapy areas or demonstrating portfolio management 

  • Operated within multiple business scenarios (e.g. turnaround, merger, digital transformation or business development) 

  • Managed complex external negotiations or exposure to public affairs and parliament 

  • As a seasoned people leader you are building, inspiring, and motivating teams and investing in developing your employees and support their growth. You create a collaborative, inclusive culture, you empower, and foster diversity, and encourage innovation and create environment where trust and speak up culture are seen as fundamental building stones in the organization's culture. 

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required
