About the department
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department in Region APAC provides strategic financial insights and guidance to support the region’s business objectives. Our department plays a crucial role in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure the financial health and growth of Novo Nordisk in the APAC markets. The role will report to the VP, Finance and Operations for Region APAC.

 

The position
As a Director Financial Planning & Analysis you will be responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function for the Asia Pacific region. This role will provide strategic financial insights, drive financial performance, and support decision-making processes to achieve the company's business objectives.

  • Lead the FP&A function across APAC by aligning financial strategies with corporate objectives, overseeing budgeting, long-term planning, and forecasting, while ensuring cost control and profitability optimization.
  • Drive financial performance analysis by identifying risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives, as well as develop and implement financial models, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor trends and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly and quarterly reporting across APAC and lead variance analysis and scenario planning to maintain consistency and alignment across country finance teams.
  • Act as a finance partner to APAC leadership, commercial teams, and operations. Work closely with supply chain and regional teams to drive strategic initiatives, operational efficiency, and financial goal alignment.
  • Lead finance optimization projects across APAC, driving digital transformation, operational excellence, and simplification initiatives to enhance financial processes and efficiency.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and business analytics tools (SAP, Power BI, etc.).
  • Extensive experience working in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams in a regional or global setting.
  • A proactive approach to finance partnering and value creation, with a genuine interest in developing employees and teams.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to present complex financial insights to diverse stakeholders.
