We want to play a key role in driving adoption of emerging digital technologies and open innovation in Novo Nordisk? Want to work in the definitionof the building blocks of external collaborations with startups and other unconventional partnerships in digital healthcare in China? We are looking for a profile able to understand different technologies and markets in China and to connect the different startup offering to the needs of our internal units. We are in search for flexibility and creativity to link opportunities and drive the maturation from ideas to successful pilots taking a major responsibility in the whole process.

About the department


The Digital Innovation Hubs are a global initiative with a strong anchoring in the Hub regions. The Hub in China is a joint effort of Global IT, International Operations and Region China, and is led by the Business Innovation Garage, based in Denmark, with a strong link with Digital Data and IT and the Digital Health Hub in China.

The Business Innovation Garage is high growth unit in Novo Nordisk. The team itself is a part of Digital Incubator & Innovation area. The team is exploring several areas but with a strong focus on accelerating the digital transformation of NN by supporting the organization in boosting partnerships with startups in digital healthcare across several regions.

Core focus is to remain forward-looking and showcase strong adaptability. Furthermore, the team is and must be working in a highly agile manner and be able to shift its focus based on rapidly changing opportunities and threats within emerging technologies. Consequentially, you should expect the team structure to be dynamic as well.

 

About the job
As an Open Innovation Consultant you will be joining a team that is continuously scouting and identifying ideas and new solutions from external sources; screen, evaluate and select ideas for future development in line with industry needs at a global scale. You will be expected to identify new start-ups working on the digital space, define how to collaborate with those companies and work closely with the Novo Nordisk business units to generate impact in our business with digital. As a Consultant it is expected that you will be driving accelerator programmes and ensure the implementation of pilots that can later be scaled across regions.

You should also be comfortable organizing information, gathering learnings and sharing those learnings among the organization. Also expect to have to represent the Digital Innovation Hub in startup events and technology conferences.

You should be able to convincingly and clearly communicate to stakeholders across the business and act as a trusted advisor with a strong understanding of business challenges and constraints.

 

  

Qualifications


We are looking for a person with experience and passion for driving startup support programmes and engage stakeholders in complex environments. You should be able to tailor messages to relevant stakeholders from various levels of authority. Strong analytical, technical and business skills is needed to navigate the landscape of technologies and translate uncertainties into tangible opportunities for Novo Nordisk.

Formally, we expect you to have at least 6 years of experience working in venture capital, consulting, and/or product management in a corporate. Experience working with or in startups and in digital healthcare  will be a plus. A relevant Master’s degree in technology with relevant innovation management connection and a track record that includes one or more of the following:


•    An innovation track record working on, or driving, disruptive projects from idea to launch 
•    Experience running incubation or acceleration programmes in complex structures and managing projects and pilots

•    Internally selling concepts and initiatives that challenges the status quo
•    Knowledge and passion for digital trends
•    Experience in developing relationships and working with multiple stakeholder on high profile cross functional and multinational initiatives
•    Vivid and curious learner 
•    Eagerness to be a part of building something new and challenge traditional methodologies 

 

You should also be well-articulated, have excellent business English and Chinese skills (oral and written), and be able to communicate with several stakeholders.
