The position
With due recognition of Novo Nordisk's vision, values, and policies, and in accordance with Novo Nordisk's strategies and business objectives, the Senior Market Access Specialist will hold responsibility for applying, following, and obtaining approval for prices of all NN products in accordance with relevant legislation/regulations and NN SOPs, as well as assisting in preparing reimbursement dossiers. Other role expectations are as follows, but is not limited to:
- Prepare health economic dossiers for new drugs to secure price approvals and support National Health Insurance (NHI) reimbursement guideline extensions using expertise in collaboration with Global MAPA and Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) teams.
- Manage a local agency to adapt HEOR models for both new and core products, oversee government affairs concerning cost-benefit issues of Novo Nordisk Korea's products, and assess new pipeline products and research.
- Regularly screens and monitors reference country price developments, prepares and submits price applications to Health Insurance Rereview & Assessment Service (HIRA), and manages legal documentations from HQ for official price applications, including price exemption cases and internal approvals.
- Responsible for managing pricing and reimbursement activities across the product lifecycle, with a strong focus on post-launch price management.
- Monitors and proactively manages pricing risks, including price-volume agreements, generic entry, and policy-driven price adjustments.
Leads re-negotiation and maintenance of reimbursement conditions by leveraging new evidence, market insights, and payer engagement. - Ensures compliance with global and local pricing governance while aligning cross-functional stakeholders to optimize sustainable access and revenue.
- Monitors market reimbursement developments, conducts price analyses using reference pricing systems, and assists in preparing reports, analyses, and presentations on pricing, reimbursement, and value argumentation as requested by the line manager.
- Collaborate with key functions to create value dossiers, communicate HE developments to leverage business opportunities, manage HEOR agencies for Novo Nordisk Korea's Pricing & Reimbursement strategies, participate in HE/HTA platforms, supervise study budgets, and ensure adherence to Business Ethics and Compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- A bachelor or higher degree in pharmacy, economics, public health, statistics or HEOR, or equivalent training as a health provider.
- Previous experience of at least 3 years in academia, pharmaceutical industry or HIRA working with the field of HEOR or market access
- Qualified to analyse HIRA’s HEOR criteria and the regulations related with Market access.
- Good proficiency of English (speaking and writing), Performance oriented mindset and negotiation skills are required.
- Focus on ethics, compliance, and confidentiality.
- This position is only open for local Koreans, with native level fluency and knowledge of Korea healthcare regulations and reimbursement policies.
