In Novo Nordisk Korea, we are looking for talented Medical Manager/Advisor who can lead the scientific medical communication, development and implementation of impactful projects with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and Opinion Leaders (OLs) in the field of Cardiovascular disease (with the main focus on Cardiologists) and other stakeholders to ensure a good understanding of Novo Nordisk (NN) thera-peutic concepts, products and data, with a focus on GLP-1 data leading to an op-timal access and usage of the products for the benefit of patients. The Clinical, Medical, Regulatory (CMR) department is one of the key functions that enable the business strategy through effective execution of functional goals, in the areas of Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory.
The position
You will be instrumental in providing medical and scientific expertise and supportnig scientific storyline and medical strategies development for Novo Nordisk products. The job title of this position will be decided between Medical Manager and Medical advisor based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications.
You will also be responsible for
- Drive and execute strategic projects across five key Medical Affairs pillars: insights for decision-making, medical education, organizational readiness, evidence generation, and PA/KOL engagement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance market and patient pathway understanding, supporting medical and commercial decisions. Lead advanced scientific development and launch preparations while mapping healthcare systems and patient treatment pathways. Provide medical and scientific consultation for stakeholders and support local treatment guidelines. Align PA and KOL engagement strategies with Global Medical Affairs.
- Ensure excellence in scientific and advisory board meetings by developing agendas, content, and effective KOL engagement while utilizing gathered insights. Communicate data accurately and balance scientific discourse through abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and manuscripts at national conferences and journals. Adapt global publication plans to local needs and regulations and liaise with professional associations to enhance Novo Nordisk’s presence. Provide internal training, support clinical operations in trial execution, and proactively address competitor activities. Secure real-world evidence (RWE), support Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS), and analyze country-level data needs to identify gaps, address stakeholder evidence requirements, and strengthen the product value proposition.
- KOL Engagement : Identfy and segment KOLs relevant to obesity and cardiometabolic disease and develop engagement plans, including obtaining expert advice to guide local decisions and strategy; Plan and implement innovative ways to gather clinical insights/needs/feedback from KOLs/customers and communicate with internal stakeholders. Develop relationships with KOLs and proactively work with cross-functional group to develop product advocacy or advisory board forum discussion and engage with local associations and organizations.
- Medical Education : Educate internal stakeholders to ensure relevant scientific dialogue to external stakeholders e.g. KOLs, other HCPs, nurses, pharmacists, media etc. on a product/project specific basis; Increase awareness of NovoNordisk products/disease area through presentations and trainings, CMEs, according to business strategy and plan and execute non-promotional scientific activities in accordance with the company program including but not limited to medical education program, symposium, speaker training, key scientific leader program. Stay up-to-date on scientific knowledge by actively participating in scientific meetings, conferences, CMEs and sharing publications.
- Ethics & Compliance : Compliance with NovoNordisk principles and internal legal laws and to defend company interests. Nevertheless as a requirement of the business ethics; to defend the confidentiality of company as well as the patients’ privacy, business plans, ideas and strategies against third parties. Act in line with ethical standards, company procedures, and NovoNordisk Way of Management wich includes vision, policies and charter which describes our values, commitments and fundamentals. Ensure that the profile of the NN remains high amongst stakeholders like doctors, patients, paramedics, associations etc. by developing and maintaining a close rapport through liaison and networking.
Qualifications
- M.D with medical experience in the field.
- Ph.D. or Pharmacist or scientist/researchers with solid professional medical expertise more than 5 years in pharmaceutical industry, preferably in related disease area
- More than 5 years of Medical Affairs related experience and solid understanding of the role and activities of medical affairs in pharmaceutical industry. Experience with relevant therapy areas will be an added advantage (e.g. endocrinology, cardiovascular, etc).
- Excellent medical communication skills and understanding of different therapy areas and phases of the product lifecycle.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
