In Novo Nordisk Korea, we are looking for talented Medical Manager who can lead the scientific medical communication, development and implementation of impactful projects with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and Opinion Leaders (OLs) in the field of Cardiovascular disease (with the main focus on Cardiologists) and other stakeholders to ensure a good understanding of Novo Nordisk (NN) thera-peutic concepts, products and data, with a focus on GLP-1 data leading to an op-timal access and usage of the products for the benefit of patients. About the Department
Located in Korea, the Cardiometabolic Medical Affairs team is at the forefront of identifying and engaging with KOLs in diabetes and obesity. Our team is responsible for drafting global publication plans, liaising with professional associations, and providing internal guidance for clinical trials. The position
As a Medical Affairs Manager, Cardiometabolic, you will Lead the Cardiometabolic Medical Affairs team to drive and execute medical strategies across five focus areas, including insights for strategy, evidence generation, scientific dialogue, clinical care pathway, and organizational readiness, with cross-functional collaboration aligned with business opportunities and brand plans, primarily in diabetes and obesity. This position will manage 4 team members that are in charge of diabetes and obesity medical affairs. It is a newly created people manager position.
Main responsibilities are as follows but are not limited to:

Medical Affairs Team Management: The role involves managing Medical Advisors focused on Diabetes and Obesity, ensuring efficient team operations through proper resource allocation, budget management, and task prioritization. It includes contributing to the timely planning and execution of affiliate Medical Affairs strategies aligned with business and brand plans, setting SMART goals for performance and individual development, and providing timely feedback. Additionally, the role requires active participation in medical management and cross-functional project groups.

Scientific Medical Excellence: This role involves driving advanced scientific therapeutic area development and leading local cross-functional working groups while collaborating on launch preparations. Responsibilities include mapping healthcare systems and patient care pathways, providing medical and scientific consultation to stakeholders, and supporting local treatment guidelines. The position also entails developing scientific agendas and content for meetings and advisory boards, ensuring effective speaker engagement, and communicating data accurately and impartially to the scientific community. Additionally, the role includes planning and executing abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and manuscripts, monitoring competitor activities, securing real-world evidence (RWE), supporting Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS), and analyzing country-level data needs for successful product launches.

KOL Engagement: This role involves leading KOL mapping, segmentation, and engagement planning, supporting partnerships with KOLs aligned with Novo Nordisk's therapeutic strategies to improve patient outcomes. It includes designing KOL engagement activities, gathering clinical insights and feedback for internal communication, and building relationships with KOLs while collaborating with cross-functional teams on product advocacy and advisory board discussions. The position also involves engaging with local associations and organizations to further enhance strategic partnerships.

Medical Education: This role focuses on increasing awareness of Novo Nordisk products and disease areas through presentations, training sessions, and CMEs aligned with business strategy. Responsibilities include planning and executing non-promotional scientific activities such as medical education programs, symposiums, speaker training, and key scientific leader programs. The position also requires staying updated on scientific knowledge by actively participating in scientific meetings, conferences, and CMEs, as well as sharing relevant publications.

Business Ethics & Compliance: This role ensures compliance with Novo Nordisk's principles and legal regulations, safeguarding company interests and confidentiality. It involves acting ethically in alignment with the company’s vision, policies, and charter, while maintaining a strong profile among stakeholders by developing and nurturing relationships through effective liaison and networking.
Qualifications

PhD, MD, Pharmacist, or scientific background.

More than 10 years of professional medical expertise in the pharmaceutical industry. Must have experience in chronic cardiometabolic disease areas such as diabetes and obesity.

Solid understanding of Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as experience in people management and strategic thinking.

Experience in project-based activities and successfully delivering initiatives, with the ability to leverage or grow an existing network of external stakeholders.

Excellence in medical communication skills. Fluency in both written and spoken English are also required.
