In Other Serious Chronic Diseases (OSCD), we aim to create a strong presence by building a strong pipeline and scientific leadership. Our focus will be on Metabolic dysfunction Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) and New Therapy Areas such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), cardiovascular (CVD), inflammation and Alzheimer’s disease.
 
The position
As a Medical Advisor, you will be part of the CMR (Clinical, Medical and Regulatory) department, partnering with other departments to develop and execute MASH medical affairs strategy, build advocacy, build competencies and drive the setup of MASH New therapeutic Area. You will report to the Head of Medical Affairs, Korea.

The key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • In-charge of planning and execution of the local medical strategy for development of the MASH therapy area. You will be instrumental in the identification and segmentation of KOLs relevant to the MASH therapy area and develop engagement plans, including obtaining expert advice to guide local decisions and strategy.
  • Draft and adapt a global publication plan with regard to the local needs and regulations. You will also liaise with relevant professional associations, including congress activities for Novo Nordisk’s presence in the MASH area. 
  • Provide guidance and training internally to aid in capability building in affiliate as well as assist clinical operations in the execution of clinical trials in MASH, in geographies where medical resources for MASH studies are not available are also key responsibilities. 
  • Seek opportunities and advice to obtain understanding of the market and patient pathways within MASH for internal medical and commercial business decisions and scientific development of MASH area.
  • Close collaboration with medical and commercial colleagues in obesity to ensure alignment and synergy of MASH within obesity is key to success.

 
Qualifications

  • MD, Ph.D., Pharm D or Pharmacist with experience in the field of metabolic medicine (diabetes, obesity, CVD, dyslipidaemia) preferably, either from the pharmaceutical industry, medical practice or academia. 
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in medical affairs in the pharmaceutical industry would be mandatory and have an in-depth understanding of the role of medical affairs in pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs tools and activities. 
  • You can bridge medical affairs and commercial priorities and can work with cross-functional stakeholders. You have excellent medical communication skills. You are driven, can take initiative, and are agile in actions.
  • The position requires a relatively moderate to high level (around 30%) of travelling within the country and abroad.
  • You are fluent in both written and spoken English and Korean languages. Knowledge and experience of the local Korean market is a priority.
