The position
The Medical Advisor is the medical expert for the Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Korea (NNPK) Diabetes portfolio and will drive the set up and implementation of the medical strategy for the diabetes portfolio to aid in the overall objectives of the company/Affiliate by working to drive medical understanding of the diabetes therapeutic area & portfolio in the scientific community by planning and executing activities within the medical affairs focus areas.

Your key tasks will include:

  • Insights for strategy: Set up the medical strategies for diabetes portfolio aligned with global and Asia Pacific regional strategies and act as a subject matter expert on new portfolio in diabetes for external and internal facing communication as well as engage and partner with relevant national professional associations.
  • Evidence generation: Assist with the clinical trial activities ongoing through scientific retention and recruitment activities if needed and identify local data gaps and collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Real-World Evidence (RWE) team to implement local data generation activities. Provide medical view on proposals for local investigator sponsored studies and on protocol for global clinical trials sponsored by company. Additionally, develop protocols and/or periodic reports for Post Marketing surveilance (PMS) trials and provide medical view on Product Development Plan (PDP) for NN new product portfolios. Drive planning of local publication plan for applicable NN product portfolio, including identifying proposals based on local needs for new publications aligned to the global publication strategy.
  • Scientific dialogues: Drive the national medical education initiatives as necessary and collaborate in the scientific contents in the signature brand symposium. Act as an expert in the use of NNPK products in diabetes contribute to medical educational activities and drive scientific dialogues and medical communication through e.g. (international) congress presence and attendance, and local publication. 
  • Clinical care pathways & Organisational readiness: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (business units, and market access, etc) providing medical input to improve clinical pathways. Participate in cross-functional business planning and project meetings and act as a business partner in cross-functional initiatives and complete personal learning including staying up to date on scientific information by completing required training, and attending scientific meetings.
  • Ensure Business Ethics (BE) Compliance: Consolidate any potential BE issues in the department and report it to compliance department for area of improvement as well as implement BE strategies and activities within the department and advise BE, issues and actions within the department. Additionally, ensure all activities are complied with country relevant acts and industry ethical standards/code of conduct.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in bioscience/medicine with licensed pharmacist/Pharm D, advanced degree (MD, PhD, etc) preferrable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pharma industry as well as minimum 3-4 years of Medical Affairs experience preferrable.
  • Strong knowledge of medical compliance is essential to grasp the distinct roles of Medical Affairs, coupled with leadership expertise to effectively lead and guide commercial teams. It also requires the ability to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds, alongside a solid understanding of scientific principles. Additionally, familiarity with focused pillars of medical activities and the demonstration of launch excellence are crucial.
  • Teamwork, the ability to achieve results through others, and proficiency in working within a highly driven team are essential. Additionally, excellent networking abilities and presentation expertise are required. Key traits include rapport, humility, collaboration, networking, and accountability, alongside excellent and proactive communication expertise.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Korean.
