Your new role

  • Financial Reporting & Statutory Compliance: Manage the month-end and year-end closing process, prepare and oversee annual statutory financial statements in accordance with K-GAAP and IFRS, ensuring accuracy and on-time submission to relevant authorities; Report financial results to regional and global headquarters in accordance with corporate reporting calendars and formats and Novo Nordisk internal financial controls framework;
  • Tax Management: Oversee all aspects of Korean corporate tax compliance, including Corporate Income Tax, Value Added Tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing documentation; Ensure transfer pricing policies are compliant with local regulations and aligned with Group guidelines.
  • Audit & Internal Controls: Serve as primary contact for external auditors and coordinate statutory audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation; Collaborate with Novo Nordisk Group Internal Audit on periodic reviews and ensure timely resolution of audit findings; Maintain a robust financial control environment and drive continuous improvement in internal control procedures.
  • Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, setting clear objectives and managing performance; Partner with Finance Planning & Analysis, Supply Chain and other functions to support business planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives; Drive standardization, automation, and process improvement initiatives within the accounting function; Support local and regional finance projects as assigned by regional leadership.

 

Your new department

The Finance & Operations team in Korea is a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to ensuring the smooth running of financial processes, delivering actionable insights to drive strategic decisions and running smooth operations. With a focus on excellence and innovation, we work together to support Novo Nordisk's mission of improving the lives of patients worldwide. You will report to the Finance & Operations Director, and there will be 4 team members reporting to you in this team.

 

Your skills & qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. CPA (Korean or international), CTA, or equivalent professional qualification will be preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and/or tax experience, preferably within a multinational corporation and minimum 2-3 years of direct people management experience are required. Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical devices industry will be preferred.
  • Solid understanding of K-GAAP and IFRS financial reporting standards and Knowledge of Korean corporate tax law and transfer pricing regulations are required. Track record of managing external audits and tax authority engagements as well as K-SOX experience will be added advantages.
  • Professional fluency in Korean and English (written and spoken) is essential.
