Research Associate - Type 1 Diabetes and Diabetic Kidney Disease

Facility:  Research
Location:

Seattle, WA, US

About the Department

The Type 1 Diabetes, Immunology, and Kidney Disease team is part of the Global Diabetes, Cardio-Renal, and Translational Science department (GDCRT) provides a research pipeline for Type 1 Diabetes and Kidney Disease (with a focus on diabetic kidney disease) through access to disease-relevant human tissue and data, well-powered and well-designed in vivo studies, and novel in vitro assay platforms. Our projects are developed and supported through internal collaborations as well as academic and industry partnerships. We leverage our findings from human tissues to improve animal models to expedite the drug discovery process. Our immunologists and biologists work across multiple chronic disease areas and are constantly learning new skills to drive experiments forward. Our team takes a unique approach to drug discovery: as our understanding of complex human biology and immunology changes, or a specific technology emerges, we shift our focus.
