You will spot stories worth telling, pitch them to journalists and turn complex medical and scientific information into clear, accurate messages. What you’ll bring
- A completed degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field.
- At least 4 years’ experience in external corporate communications, public relations and/or press management.
- Hands-on experience working directly with media and journalists, including handling press requests, pitching content and coordinating interviews.
- Experience in, or solid knowledge of, crisis communication and how to manage media during a crisis.
- Strong writing and editing skills, and the ability to turn technical information into clear, precise messages.
- Intermediate-to-advanced English, mainly to understand and work with information in English.
- Strategic thinking and the drive to create new communication opportunities, especially in digital channels.
- The ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders.
Useful, but not essential:
- Experience in healthcare, pharma, health institutions, scientific organisations or agencies working with the sector.
- Experience in science communication, health education campaigns and preparing spokespeople.
What you’ll do
Your work will combine a journalist’s eye for a story with accurate, responsible communication.
- Build and grow a strong network of journalists and editors across general, health, science and business media.
- Spot communication opportunities and pitch news angles that bring health topics and Novo’s messages to the right audiences, including through digital channels.
- Write and coordinate press releases, key messages, Q&As and interview materials, and prepare spokespeople with briefings and advice.
- Organise interviews, press conferences and media events, keeping communications agencies and suppliers on track with deliverables and deadlines.
- Monitor media coverage, the health agenda and reputational risks, support crisis management and alert the team early.
- Measure and report results, and make sure all content is properly reviewed and approved and follows ethical and regulatory guidelines for healthcare.
Who you’ll work with
You will join the Communications Department within Communications, Market Access & Public Affairs Department. You will work closely with medical and technical teams to turn science into content people can understand, with the spokespeople you prepare, and with the agencies and suppliers who help bring campaigns to life. Outside Novo, your network will include journalists, editors and other people working in health.
What you can expect here
You will be trusted to own your work, make your voice heard and bring fresh ideas, especially in digital. You will build skills across media relations, science communication and crisis communication, and learn on the job alongside experienced colleagues. You will also join a company that is training its whole workforce in AI and technology, so you can keep building skills that matter for the future of communication.
