Vice President, Patient Experience & Advocacy

The position

This is a high-impact role that balances visionary leadership and innovation with disciplined execution, where you will be at the forefront of Novo Nordisk’s commitment to patient centricity. In the role you will set the strategic direction and operational priorities for three teams consisting of approximately 30 people, and act as a key voice in ensuring that patient insights are systematically integrated from early research through to market

 

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing strategies to establish Novo Nordisk as a leader in patient engagement across the industry.
  • Responsibility for Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) to support regulatory claims, patient preference studies, and related interactions with regulatory bodies.
  • Building and enhancing meaningful partnerships with patients and patient associations to deliver treatments that better meet their needs.
  • Driving global patient voice initiatives to ensure that real-world insights directly influence key decision points across the product lifecycle
  • Representing Novo Nordisk in global patient engagement forums such as; EFPIA patient think tank, PFMD patient engagement synapse, and EUPATI
  • Drive co-creation with patient communities to deliver health system impact and ensure ethical, outcome-focused engagement throughout the healthcare journey.

 

Qualifications

We are looking for a transformative leader who brings:

  • Proven leadership experience, including leading through others and building high-performing teams
  • International experience in a patient centric role with demonstrated understanding of the key functions and compliance framework in pharma
  • Strong public presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience with governmental bodies, health authorities and international forums
  • A global mindset with the ability to navigate complex, cross-functional environments and manage high-stakes negotiations where stakeholder perspectives may diverge.

 

About the department

The Patient Experience & Advocacy team is a strategic powerhouse within Global Medical Affairs. Based at our headquarters in Denmark, we work cross-functionally to co-create solutions that improve patient outcomes, build long-term trust, and enhance Novo Nordisk’s reputation as a partner in change for those living with chronic diseases. You will report to the SVP of Global Medical Affairs and be part of the Global Medical Affairs leadership team.
