The Position
As a UX Strategist you will drive early discovery and user empathy in the team and shape the design of new product development in our highly critical product area supporting end-to-end clinical trial planning and management.
You will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of the context and domain of your product area, forming strong partnerships with your Product Owner/Manager and Tech peers, fuelling the product strategy with user needs and insights, and working at various levels of abstraction in collaboration with the other designers in your area to influence all phases of development of the product lifecycle. You will become part of a UX backbone of longstanding product teams, driving discovery while also implementing the solution.
You will help bring best practice digital product development and user research to pharma and collaborate on product decisions and experiments, early and frequently. In this position, you will be joining Development Digital Transformation’s growing design department, where you will get sparring, inspiration, and support from likeminded professionals.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Problem and solution space exploration: conducting new product discovery in close collaboration with your peers, mapping as-is and to-be user journeys to identify user pain points and future opportunities, and generate concepts to address them
- Problem-solution validation: conducting experiments, prototyping and testing with users to validate desirability, de–risking the chosen solution, and documenting learnings and decisions
- Product definition and vision: delivering prototypes and visualisations for validated product designs and facilitating definition of product outcomes (targeted user behaviour)
- Design implementation and evaluation: orchestrating design implementation and evaluating user adoption together with the Product Owner/Manager
- Cross-team collaboration and facilitation: championing the design and product mindset and facilitating collaboration across the product area
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree within design, digitalisation, innovation, IT, or similar and extensive experience in developing digital solutions
- Experience with digital transformation from related industries or digital agencies is preferred
- Strong communication skills with experience in navigating complex stakeholder environments and strong collaboration capabilities in organisational change management
- A solid toolbox equipped with design thinking, user research methods, facilitation, agile principles, product vision, and strategic business understanding
- Fluency within different design and prototyping tools (e.g., Miro, Figma, Dovetail, Notion)
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
On a personal level, you have an inclusive and critical mindset and apply user empathy to challenge the status quo. You are a dynamic professional adept at steering teams towards success and possessing a proven track record in stakeholder management and project execution. You can set direction on strategic matters and communicate an engaging vision that is founded on a broader purpose.
About the department
Development Digital Transformation is the department responsible for the identification, ideation, funding, and follow-through of new digital initiatives for Development. In a unique setting, we bring together designers, engineers, and healthcare professionals to discover and develop the right solutions.
You will be joining the Design team in the Digital Transformation department. We are a team of UX designers, UX strategists, user researchers, and “product thinkers” who believe that a good user experience of our digital products can significantly improve the quality of life and efficiency for our colleagues, as well as create better lives for patients. To achieve this vision, we help at the very early stages of new digital ideas, through to realising business outcomes. We do experiments to prove strong product desirability early on and collaborate extensively with our colleagues from all areas across the Development business unit. To us, the design role can take many shapes, and we all strive to support and help educate the organisation about user-centred product design.
The product team you will work in is part of a suite of other products called StudyHub. StudyHub helps teams across Novo Nordisk solve complex problems by connecting our colleagues in Clinical Development & Project Leadership (CDPL), Global Trial Planning (GTP) and Clinical, Medical & Regulatory (CMR) around the world with coherent and seamlessly integrated products in one central intelligence and data pipeline.
