Your new role

Novo Nordisk is seeking a Translational Specialist to support clinical development by linking drug and disease mechanisms to biomarker strategies and clinical decision-making. The role sits within Translational Medicine.

As a Translational Specialist you will be responsible for:

• Leading cross-functional Translational Teams and represent Translational Medicine in project teams.
• Identifying and qualify biomarkers and provide key input to the development of clinically deployable assays.
• Driving translational biomarker plans to support portfolio de-risking and differentiation.
• Bridging molecular and mechanistic understanding with human disease biology while ensuring clinical feasibility.
• Supporting patient sub-population selection, mechanism-of-action understanding, and commercial segmentation strategies.
• Contributing to building the Translational Medicine discipline and department capabilities at Novo Nordisk.

Your new department

The Translational Medicine department is part of Experimental & Translational Medicine and focuses on biomarker development and deployment throughout preclinical and clinical development. It applies translational approaches and prospective stop/go criteria to support data-driven R&D decisions across the value chain, from research through clinical development and beyond launch.

The position is based in Søborg, with close collaboration expected with colleagues in Global Research located in Måløv.

Your skills and qualifications

To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:

• Master's degree in Life Sciences, complemented by a PhD or equivalent scientific expertise.
• More than 5 years of biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Experience in bridging preclinical and clinical development.
• Scientific background preferably within cardiometabolic diseases.
• Experience in implementing biomarker strategies.
• A proven track record of biomarker strategy development and implementation during drug development.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions and cultures.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600 to 1,091,600 DKK (DK), corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
