Translational Medicine Lead
Søborg, Capital Region of Denmark, DK
Experimental & Translational Medicine
Søborg, DK, Onsite
Are you an innovative scientist looking for a new role where you can directly impact clinical development programs through drug and disease mechanistic understanding? Are you looking to join an exciting area changing the way drugs are developed at Novo Nordisk? Then this opportunity could be right for you. Join us in Translational Medicine and help change how we conduct research and development in Novo Nordisk.
Your new role
As Translational Medicine Lead you will lead cross-functional Translational Teams and represent Translational Medicine in project teams. You will work with the Translational Team to identify and qualify biomarkers and to develop clinically deployable assays. You will become the scientific and strategic driver responsible for implementing high-quality actionable biomarker plans in clinical trials to ensure end-to-end portfolio derisking and differentiation. A key element is bridging the molecular mechanistic understanding at the target level with human disease knowledge whilst maintaining a focus on clinical feasibility. You will build evidence to implement prospective patient sub-population selection, Mechanism of Action understanding, and commercial segmentation for label update and scientific communication.
As a senior member of the team, you will also play a key supporting role in the development of a growing department and the implementation of translational medicine as a discipline to increase innovation at Novo Nordisk. The position is based in Søborg, Denmark but you are expected to work closely with colleagues in Global Research in Måløv.
Your new department
The Translational Medicine area is located within Medical & Translational Science at Novo Nordisk.
As part of the corporate global R&D strategy, Translational Medicine has a focus on the development and deployment of biomarkers in clinical development together with prospective stop/go criteria to facilitate data-driven decision-making. We work in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure translational medicine is integral from a research stage, through clinical studies (ph1-3) to launch and beyond. Our commitment is to build a presence and differentiated pipeline with an increased probability of success and to the benefit of patients.
In Translational Medicine, we cover a significant part of the Novo Nordisk value chain. We follow the projects from research through clinical development linking drug MoA to commercial needs. This demands broad expertise and interdisciplinary collaboration, and we take pride in teamwork and seamless knowledge sharing.
Your skills & qualifications
You hold a PhD and/or MD with 7+ years of experience in biotech or a pharma company. You have several years of translational experience bridging preclinical and clinical data.
We are looking for a candidate with these qualifications:
-
You have a scientific or medical background, preferably within cardiometabolic diseases.
-
You have experience implementing precision medicine and/or biomarker strategies.
-
You have a track record in the strategic development and implementation of biomarkers during the drug development process.
-
You have a pioneering, curious attitude to develop differentiated medicines to meet the unmet medical needs of patients.
-
Dynamic self-starter capable of proactively leading a Translational Team.
-
Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels, functions, and cultures, allowing you to be an inspiring and strong collaborator.
