Your new role
In this role, you'll be at the intersection of cutting-edge science and innovative technology. Your work will directly support researchers, medical content writers and scientists as they explore bold ideas and advance transformative treatments from concept to clinical testing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support drug discovery and clinical research processes.
- Collaborating closely with scientists, data engineers, and cross-functional teams to understand complex research needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Building and optimizing analytical and document generation tools that enable researchers to work with large-scale biological and clinical datasets.
- Implementing modern software engineering practices including version control, automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment.
- Contributing to the adoption of AI tools and emerging technologies that advance our research capabilities.
- Ensuring software quality, security, and compliance with regulatory standards in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Participating in agile development processes and contributing to technical documentation.
Your new department
In Research & Development, you'll be part of a unit that explores bold scientific ideas and advances them into clinical testing. We combine curiosity, AI tools, and human data to develop transformative therapies. Through collaboration and operational excellence, we shape and deliver an innovative pipeline to meet future patient needs.
You will join the Clinical Data Solutions department, anchored in AI & Digital Innovation (ADI), the organization driving the digital and data transformation of R&D. ADI places data at the center of drug discovery and development, ensuring it is accessible, governed, and ready for advanced analytics and AI. Within this setup, Clinical Data Solutions contributes to improving clinical development through robust data foundations, digital products, and scalable, high quality data practices across R&D.
Your skills & qualifications
As a Senior Software Developer, you’ll bring:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in software development, including design, implementation, and support of IT systems.
- Experience building complex web applications using agile methodologies and working in cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in Python (FastAPI) and MongoDB for backend development, modern frontend frameworks, and AWS—using CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Deep knowledge of the full SDLC, including requirements gathering, system design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring high‑quality and reliable deliverables.
- Proficiency in CI/CD, containerization, and cloud platforms (GitHub, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with DevOps and a “you build it, you run it” mindset.
- Ability to use AI‑assisted and agentic development approaches as an integrated part of daily engineering work, including AI‑supported coding, testing, refactoring, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with TDD or BDD is considered a strong plus.
