The position
We are seeking a Senior Project Portfolio Manager who thrives on driving and enhancing governance processes to ensure transparency and effective practices for management and project teams. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of complex projects, oversee portfolio performance, and take decisive actions to ensure successful project execution.
Areas of responsibility will include:

Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on portfolio performance, and drive discussions to prioritize projects, allocate resources effectively, and address pain points, risks, and gaps according to strategic objectives and business needs.

Collaborate closely with project managers, management, and PMO team members, including cost controllers and process excellence managers, to ensure alignment and control over a constantly changing portfolio.

Define and optimize portfolio management processes, ensuring consistent and effective use of portfolio management tools.

Serve as the super user, expert, and trainer in our project portfolio management system, and identify and drive improvements alongside our process excellence manager.

Lead the implementation of process improvements, including communication and change management strategies.
To excel in this role, you should be detail-oriented, strategic, and proactive, capable of independently making decisions to enhance portfolio performance and mitigate risks. You should have a talent for building strong relationships, influencing decision-making, and effectively managing and communicating change. As you gain experience within our system and processes, your contributions will be crucial in implementing improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we expect you to:

Hold a master’s degree in project and change management, engineering management, business administration, finance, or other related fields.

Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in project management, with a proven track record in leading and managing a project portfolio, project prioritization, resource allocation, and change management.

Demonstrate proficiency in project portfolio management systems, with specific knowledge in Projectum considered an advantage.

Possess strong analytical skills to gather and interpret data, identify and address issues and risks promptly.

Apply critical thinking to solve complex problems and make data-driven recommendations.

Exhibit excellent stakeholder management skills.

Hold certification in Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2 or PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma, which is considered an advantage.

About The Department
GCM plays a crucial role in Novo Nordisk and our focus is to bring external capabilities to life and provide viable alternatives and/or additions to our internal production. You will join a diverse and highly engaged team, where we work to improve the tools and processes that will support how we set up external manufacturing for Novo Nordisk. GCM PMO is a relatively new function that aims to support and guide management, project managers and project teams to ensure successful delivery of projects, that are in line with Novo Nordisk’s strategic goals.
The role is based in Høje Taastrup.
