The position

As Senior Manager your focus will be to lead a growing unit of (Senior) Operations Managers responsible for the daily operations of our global network of Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs) within Drug Substance.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing a team of currently five highly educated and dedicated Operations Managers and Senior Operations Managers, with plans to expand the team further in the coming months and years, as the global footprint of CMOs is growing
  • Ensuring the focus on Drug Substance, covering various custom-made materials used in our internal API manufacturing plants and finished products manufactured globally, both internally and externally
  • Working closely with the other Senior Manager to ensure coherence and alignment of operating standards in both teams, following the split of the current Operations department into two sub-teams
  • Collaborating closely with a broad range of stakeholders including Global Strategic Outsourcing unit, the management teams of the CMOs as well as other internal Novo Nordisk departments, covering e.g. Quality and Subject Matter Experts
  • Playing a pivotal role in setting the direction for critical CMOs, ensuring quality, overseeing capacity build up and timely involvement of the right competencies

You will report directly to the head of Operations Drug Substance.

 

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, we imagine you:

  • Hold a master’s degree in engineering, pharmacy, or any other relevant field
  • Have several years of direct people management experience
  • Possess a background in at least one of the following: outsourcing of production/quality control, category management, managing of internal production/quality control
  • Familiar with cGMP requirements
  • Are fluent in English, both written and spoken

About the department

Global Contract Manufacturing Drug Substance (DS) Operations is responsible for the global network of DS CMOs in Novo Nordisk. We are currently handling 18 CMOs in operation, and the number is expected to grow heavily in the coming years. We are responsible for the daily operations, capacity utilisation, deliveries to downstream customers and for ensuring that the quality meets standards. Together with our stakeholders we set the direction for future collaboration with the CMOs in terms of capacity build up, supply chain strategies, collaboration models and quality oversight.
