If yes, this opportunity could be for you! We are seeking a passionate lead developer for our Medical & Science department, which focuses on cardiometabolic diseases.

 

The position
As the Senior International Medical Director, you will spearhead projects which aim to bring innovative treatment to patients within obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular and kidney disease.


You will be the working with Medical-scientific colleagues with clinical, research, and pharmaceutical industry experiences in the global and regional/local settings. Together with the line of business leadership you will help drive the scientific project development including investigator related activities.


As a Senior International Medical Director, your main responsibilities will be focused on:

  • Leading late-stage clinical development project(s) and be accountable for all Medical & Science deliverables
  • Overseeing activities for clinical development within several cardiometabolic diseases, addressing the unique challenges within each
  • Ensuring that clinical development options and trial designs are carefully evaluated and optimised
  • Upholding high scientific quality and innovation in all Medical & Science deliverables while fostering strong collaboration and communication with key stakeholders from early Research to Commercial
  • Promoting a culture of teamwork and constructive dialogue within the Medical & Science department and across the broader Medical & Science Cardiometabolic area
        

Qualifications
To be a competitive candidate, you should have:

  • Medical Doctor degree and PhD or equivalent research experience 
  • At least 5 years of experience in clinical drug development, including advanced, complex clinical trial designs
  • Experience with being scientific lead of junior and senior medical specialists
  • Considerable projects management skills
  • The ability to engage with external experts gaining insights on disease and meaningful effects for the patients during trial design and interpretation of clinical data
  • Experience with presenting and defending decisions at internal and external governance boards
      

As a professional, you will have the ability to navigate and collaborate within a complex matrix organisation, having an international mindset and a desire to lead a multicultural team, engaging stakeholders from research to commercial and you will have exceptional skills in balancing demands and resources within a varied portfolio while prioritising mental well-being. 

 

About the department 
In the Medical & Science Cardiometabolic area, our purpose is to improve the life of patients living with cardiometabolic diseases. We do that by driving the expansion of our portfolio within serious chronic diseases, such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular and kidney diseases. 


We focus on executing large late-stage development programs including outcome trials, which enable us to gather the most accurate and meaningful data possible. By doing so, we can deliver best-in-class scientific innovation to our projects.
