From shaping payer engagement to elevating our international footprint, your leadership will directly determine our global impact for Novo Nordisk’s crucial flagship area.

 

 

About the department


You will join the Global Market Access & Pricing team, within the Executive Vice President (EVP) area of Product & Portfolio Strategy (P&PS). P&PS is acting as a connector across the Novo Nordisk value chain, and P&PS shapes the future portfolio upstream with R&D, while downstream maximising portfolio value through strong commercial strategies and competitive launches in affiliates.

 

The Global Market Access & Pricing (GMAP) team reports into Portfolio Strategy and Access that leads: Portfolio deployment and optimisation, access and pricing, forecasting, insights and competitor intelligence, digital initiatives, and the launch centre of excellence. This set up enables clear portfolio decisions, strong cross functional alignment, and realisation of key synergies across therapy areas.

 
You will be leading the Global Market Access Diabetes team which is diverse, international and covering cross-functional competencies such as health economics, market access, payer evidence and pricing. All team members are senior with documented track records of successful market access execution.

 

 

The Position


In this high visibility leadership role, you define and drive the global market access strategy for Novo Nordisk’s diabetes pipeline and in-market assets.

 

As the new Senior Market Access Director for Diabetes, you will report to the Vice President of Global Market Access & Pricing. You will become a member of the GMAP leadership team alongside other leaders heading up similar teams for other disease areas. You will also become a member of key decision fora.

 

You will lead a highly qualified Diabetes Market Access team of 8 based in Denmark and 4 in India (dotted line). You will serve as a key voice in the Global Novo Nordisk Market Access community, ensuring clear payer value, strong cross functional alignment, and readiness for launch and reimbursement.

This is a highly strategic position with global reach, executive stakeholder engagement, and real influence on how we shape the future of market access.

The position is in Soeborg, Denmark.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Set and execute the Global Market Access Strategy for all diabetes in-market and pipeline assets.

  • Lead and develop a high performing team and strengthen global access capabilities.
  • Shape payer and health technology assessment (HTA) outcomes and secure broad reimbursement through impactful cross-functional strategies and tactics.
  • Build and maintain collaborative, positive relationships with key international payers and decision makers influencing care and treatment access relevant to the portfolio.
  • Align access requirements across R&D, commercial, medical, regional and affiliate teams.
  • Drive forward looking insights on global pricing and access trends to inform business strategy.
  • Champion performance, talent development, and robust execution across the portfolio.

 

 

Qualifications


10+ years in market access, with a holistic background and solid understanding of the market access disciplines in the pharmaceutical industry such as pricing and reimbursement strategies, market access planning, payer and outcome evidence, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR).

  • 5+ years of people leadership and a proven strategic leader with ability to influence across complex, global organisations.
  • Track record of building and leading high performing teams, through an involving, empowering, leadership style that also drives performance.
  • Deep understanding of payer, health technology assessment (HTA), pricing and access landscapes globally.
  • A mix of local, regional and global market access experienced combined with a solid understanding of the drug development value chain or pharmaceutical industry value chain is ideal.
  • Ability to communicate and shape relationships with colleagues at all levels internally as well as with external partners.
  • Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Health Economics, Public Health, Market Access, Business, or similar.
