The position

As a Senior Director, you will:

  • Shape the strategic direction and goals of the Exploratory Biomarkers and Omics Interpretation department, drive the organisational build, provide scientific input into the team’s deliverables and be an inspirational leader
  • Be accountable for the interpretation of exploratory biomarker and omics data across clinical development programmes
  • Collaborate and have strategic alignment with key stakeholders across Research & Development to ensure the timely delivery of business-critical results
  • Keep the overview of organisational needs, adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

 

In this position you will have a chance to impact the performance and development of your team and influence the generation, analysis, and interpretation of complex omics data by using your scientific/clinical expertise as well as your leadership capabilities, fuelled by your curiosity and entrepreneurship.

 

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed, we expect you to:

  • Hold a PhD and/or MD with minimum 10 years’ experience from pharma, biotech or equivalent
  • Have a solid experience of omics technologies and interpretation with a pioneering and curious attitude to advance scientific and clinical understanding
  • Have a strong scientific interest and/or medical background in cardiometabolic diseases
  • Be a skilled people manager with a track record of creating followership, developing talent, and promoting delivery through collaborative teamwork
  • Be comfortable leading in an innovative space at the intersection between science, medicine, and business

 

In addition, it would be an advantage if you have a demonstrated ability and experience in driving large scale, complex collaborations.

 

About the department

You will head a newly formed department, which is located, together with the departments of Precision Medicine & Biomarkers and Diagnostics, in Precision Medicine, Biomarkers & Diagnostic Centre of Expertise (PMBD CoE).

As part of Clinical Development & Project Leadership, the PMBD CoE is a growing area that will drive the increased mechanistic understanding and interpretation of both treatment and disease supporting a precision medicine approach and diagnostic development partnerships.
