As a Clinical Pharmacology Specialist, you will contribute with scientific expertise throughout the drug development journey, influencing critical decisions from early clinical development through to regulatory new drug applications and health authority interactions.

 

Your New Role

In this role, you will serve as a scientific expert within Clinical Pharmacology and contribute to the development of innovative treatment solutions for patients worldwide. You will be responsible for driving clinical pharmacology activities across development programmes and ensuring scientific excellence in study design, data interpretation, and strategic decision-making.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the scientific planning, design, execution, interpretation, and communication of clinical pharmacology studies across early and late-stage development programmes.
  • Providing strategic clinical pharmacology input to development projects, including dose selection, PK/PD evaluations, and benefit-risk assessments.
  • Driving and coordinating clinical pharmacology activities across cross-functional project teams and external collaborations throughout the value chain.
  • Contributing to regulatory documentation, health authority interactions, and submission activities to support the approval of new medicines globally.
  • Representing Clinical Pharmacology in development teams and collaborating with internal experts, external partners, and scientific leaders to advance programmes efficiently.

 

Success in this position requires strong scientific curiosity, the ability to navigate complex development challenges, and confidence in communicating evidence-based recommendations to diverse stakeholders.

 

Your New Department

You will join the Clinical Pharmacology organisation, which is an integrated part of our Medical and Translational Sciences organisation. We are an organisation of dedicated and highly engaged colleagues working in a flexible, collaborative and cross-functional setting.

Clinical Pharmacology plays a key role in the development of new drugs at Novo Nordisk. We work as an integrated part of development and research project teams, being responsible for the clinical pharmacology strategy and the scientific input to clinical pharmacology trials. We provide clinical pharmacology expertise to all clinical development phases, Health Authority interactions and regulatory submissions worldwide.

 

Your Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we imagine you bring a strong scientific foundation combined with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A Master's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Pharmacology, or a related discipline, combined with a PhD or equivalent scientific expertise.
  • Experience within clinical pharmacology gained in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or academic sector.
  • Solid understanding of clinical drug development, including exposure to dose-setting strategies, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and translational science.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, conducting, and interpreting clinical studies while working effectively in cross-functional and international environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, together with proficiency in written and spoken English.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600 to 1,091,600 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
