The position 
As a Scientific Lead for our Precision Medicine & Biomarkers department, you will help driving biomarker strategies and evidence generation across our late-stage clinical development programmes within in Diabetes and Obesity. 


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Drive the development and implementation of project biomarker strategies in collaboration with colleagues in the global project teams to address evidence needs within the diabetes and/or metabolic disease project portfolio
  • Evaluate relevant scientific biomarker advancements and integrate these into strategic project recommendations
  • Drive implementation and execution of precision medicine and biomarker plans through internal collaborators and aid in the analysis, interpretation and communication of data
  • Provide scientific expertise and disease understanding to support biomarker strategies and plans, influencing decision-making, and building productive relationships across functions

 

Qualifications
To be a great asset to our team you should have:

  • A PhD or MD/PhD and a scientific or medical background in diabetes or metabolic disease
  • Between 3 - 7 years of experience working with biomarker evidence generation and interpretation in clinical trials, preferably in a biotech or a pharma setting
  • Solid understanding of precision medicine and hands-on experience implementing biomarker strategies in clinical studies
  • Solid experience driving biomarker analysis and interpretation in relation to patient segmentation, stratification, or endpoints
  • Documented experience communicating biomarker evidence to a scientific audience, as project biomarker lead or as author/speaker
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with a focus on execution and driving delivery through collaborative and cross-functional teamwork

 

About the department 
You will join the Precision Medicine & Biomarkers department within Medical Science Innovation, with a growing team of colleagues working on novel evidence generation across the Novo Nordisk drug development portfolio.
The department is focussed on biomarker evidence generation to support an increased mechanistic understanding of both treatment and disease, to enable a precision medicine approach, and potentially leading to diagnostic co-development as an integral part of the 5D (Drug, Device, Diagnostic, Digital, Data) product solution.
