Your new role
As Safety Surveillance Scientific Director, you will be the backbone of our department and support your colleagues and the management team with a wide range of tasks such as:
- Provide expert scientific and medical portfolio input as applicable
- Ensure medical oversight of safety evaluations within area of expertise
- Lead data interpretation and reporting of potential safety signals related to liver toxicity arising for compounds in clinical development and for marketed products
- Serve as safety representative in the cross-functional Liver Expert Group
- Engage and contribute to scientific research around treatment of liver disease and drug-induced liver injury by actively engaging in internal and external conferences or fora
- Provide input to the design, conduct and monitoring of clinical studies as applicable,
- Innovate and drive improvement projects for detection, management, and mitigation of safety signals related to liver toxicities
- Support discussions with internal governance and regulators within your field of expertise
- Increase the knowledge and capabilities of liver diseases and drug-induced liver injury through training or similar activities across the company
Your new department
Safety Surveillance is a department within Global Patient Safety and is situated in Søborg, Denmark. We are globally accountable for surveillance of all safety information for Novo Nordisk’s products that are currently marketed or under development. We additionally handle safety label updates, preparation of Risk Management Plans and aggregate reports.

Your skills & qualifications
We're seeking candidates who fulfil the following prerequisites:
- A Medical degree with substantial clinical experience in hepatology
- Board certified gastroenterologist with extensive experience within hepatology)
- Experience from the pharmaceutical industry (drug development and/or regulatory requirements governing periodic safety reporting, signal detection, safety evaluation and risk management activities) is considered an advantage
- Strategic thinking and execution
- Understanding of data analytics and visualisation
- Scientific track record
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill (English)
