Process Transformation Director
Søborg, Capital Region of Denmark, DK
Process Transformation, Research & Development
Søborg, Denmark
Are you motivated by enabling large, regulated organisations to change faster through better process design and governance? Do you thrive at the intersection of corporate frameworks and real operational execution across complex value streams? We are looking for a Process Transformation Director to strengthen the leadership team in Process Transformation and drive the business process transformation agenda across R&D.
In this role, you will be part of the Process Transformation leadership team and work across business areas in R&D and in close collaboration with quality management and governance organisations to ensure that R&D operates with fit‑for‑purpose process governance, clear roles and pragmatic ways of working that allow change and continuous improvement without compromising compliance.
Your new role
You will play a senior role in advancing R&D’s process transformation agenda by shaping how cross-organisational process frameworks, interfaces and ways of working are implemented at scale - and by accelerating process management capability and maturity across the organisation.
You will:
- Lead the orchestration of cross-SVP process frameworks and interfaces, ensuring coherent end-to-end ways of working across R&D
- Translate enterprise process principles into practical, R&D specific frameworks and operating model elements, in close partnership with quality management and governance organisations as well as process organisations
- Take ownership of selected process frameworks and interfaces, setting clear expectations for roles, decision making, lifecycle evolution and cross- functional alignment
- Partner with senior leaders and process organisations across SVP areas to enable strong process ownership and execution, acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert
- Establish a consistent approach to assessing and monitoring process health, maturity and readiness across R&D, consolidating signals from multiple areas
- Provide clear, executive level insight and reporting on process maturity, risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities to support leadership decision making and prioritisation
- Act as a visible role model for modern process leadership, demonstrating how structured process management and performance insight enable speed, quality and better outcomes
- Drive a measurable uplift in process management maturity by coaching leaders and key process roles, reinforcing standards, and ensuring the department and partnered process organisations are continuously trained and enabled to apply strong process management practices at scale
- Strengthen a culture of continuous improvement by embedding problem‑solving, prevention and performance dialogue into the way process organisations operate
- Contribute as a member of the Process Transformation leadership team, helping shape direction, priorities and execution across R&D
About the department
You will join Process Transformation, an organisation consisting of two teams and approximately 20 dedicated process specialists. Together, we orchestrate the process transformation agenda across the R&D value chain, enabling scalable, compliant, and future‑ready ways of working. Our team is based at the Søborg facility close to the Copenhagen centre, yet we collaborate across borders with a global network of stakeholders, governance bodies, and process organisations. This environment offers the opportunity to operate at the centre of R&D transformation - where process excellence, digitalisation, and quality‑by‑design come together to shape how Novo Nordisk establishes clinical evidence for years to come.
Your skills & qualifications
You bring senior‑level expertise in business process transformation and process governance and are comfortable operating at the intersection of strategy, governance and operational execution in regulated environments.
We expect that you have:
- Deep experience in business process transformation within complex, regulated organisations (e.g. pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development, healthcare or similarly regulated industries), with demonstrated impact across multiple value streams
- Proven capability to design, adapt and operate process governance models, including clear role definitions, decision rights, escalation paths and lifecycle management
- Strong track record translating corporate process frameworks into pragmatic, business‑specific variants that are executable in real operational settings while remaining fully compliant
- Substantial hands‑on experience with process management disciplines, including process architecture, BPMN‑based mapping, process inventories, governance artefacts, and structured process lifecycle management
- Demonstrated ability to establish and run process performance management, including defining meaningful metrics, thresholds and review routines that drive prioritisation, learning and continuous improvement
- Solid grounding in quality‑by‑design and risk‑proportionate governance principles as they relate to process design, controls, issue‑to‑improvement loops, CAPA and prevention
- Experience working across SVP areas and organisational boundaries, with the credibility and judgement needed to challenge constructively, resolve trade‑offs and align senior stakeholders
- Strong facilitation and decision‑framing skills, able to structure complex process topics into clear options and recommendations for leadership and governance forums
- Proven ability to operate simultaneously in ownership and enabling roles - owning selected process variants while coaching, supporting and role‑modelling for other process organisations
- Experience leading or contributing to large‑scale change initiatives, with an understanding of adoption, capability uplift and “landing changes” into steady‑state governance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex process and governance topics in clear, practical language to diverse audiences
