Process Transformation, Research & Development

Søborg, Denmark

Are you driven by building futureready process organisations that enable scale, speed, and compliant excellence in clinical development, and expanding this strength across the entire Clinical R&D value chain?

Join Process Transformation, Global Trial Portfolio in R&D Novo Nordisk, where you will orchestrate the structures, roles, governance and operating models that empower the business to own, optimise, and sustain continuous improvement.

Your new role

Your primary mission is to orchestrate, support and enforce the right process organisations (process owners/managers/stewards, process forums) across clinical development and R&D, empowering Line of Business to drive ongoing improvements effectively.

You will:

  • Design, roll-out and run the process operating model enabling governance, role clarity, and lifecycle management for clinical development processes and related support processes.
  • Apply solution and system design to re-engineering processes: quality by design controls, thresholds and alerts tied to governance cadences for proactive risk management, maturing and continuous improvement of processes.
  • Enable discovery and diagnostics: train teams on living process inventories using best practice methodologies and tools like Signavio (Business Process Management Notation); quantify flow efficiency, cycle time and root causes leveraging process mining tools; support with the channelling of insights into a prioritised improvement pipeline.
  • Embed performance management with Lean Six Sigma principles into the process landscape.
  • Build capability: targeted training for process roles and organisations, knowledge management tools and best practices - both by leveraging existing and creating new ones, including management of operating procedures.

About the department

You will join Process Transformation, an organisation consisting of two teams and approximately 20 dedicated process specialists. Together, we orchestrate the process transformation agenda across the R&D value chain, enabling scalable, compliant, and futureready ways of working. Our team is based at the Søborg facility close to the Copenhagen centre, yet we collaborate across borders with a global network of stakeholders, governance bodies, and process organisations. This environment offers the opportunity to operate at the centre of R&D transformation - where process excellence, digitalisation, and qualitybydesign come together to shape how Novo Nordisk establishes clinical evidence for years to come.

Your skills & qualifications

You bring deep experience in process transformation, operational excellence, and qualitybydesign within complex, regulated environments that is complemented by a can-do attitude and drive to make things happen while having a positive and motivating impact on your team members.

Your qualifications include:

  • A relevant academic background, such as engineering, life sciences, business, quality, or a related discipline - combined with professional experience in pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development, or other regulated industries.
  • Lean Six Sigma expertise and a performancemanagement mindset with a strong track record of driving measurable operational efficiencies through structured problemsolving and datadriven decision making supported by OKR/KPIs and monitoring frameworks.
  • Deep experience in business transformation and process optimisation.
  • Strong capability in process discovery, diagnostics, mining and modelling, including handson experience with BPMN, process mapping, and identifying highvalue data sources for mining and insights generation. Experience with Signavio and Celonis is an added advantage.
  • Experience working with QMS principles in R&D, including embedding qualitybydesign, regulatory alignment, and ensuring processes are compliant from the outset.
  • Changeleadership skills, with experience securing buyin, preparing organisations for adoption, and embedding new behaviours and practices across functions.
  • A proactive, analytical and systemsthinking mindset, with the ability to connect data, process, people and technology into coherent, scalable process systems.
