Are you an experienced pharmacometrician ready to shape development strategies for innovative therapies? In this role, you will drive high‑impact modelling and simulation activities across clinical development and regulatory submissions, influencing decisions that ultimately reach patients worldwide. 

 

Your new role 

As a Principal Modelling Specialist, you will take a leading role in defining and delivering pharmacometric strategies and analysis across complex drug development projects. Acting as both a scientific expert and trusted advisor, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams and represent Novo Nordisk in key regulatory interactions. 

 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading the pharmacometric strategy across assigned projects, supporting clinical trial design, interpretation and decision‑making throughout development. 

  • Shaping and providing high‑quality pharmacometric deliverables for regulatory submissions and authority interactions, including global health authorities. 

  • Providing expert modelling and simulation input to clinical activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. 

  • Acting as a senior subject‑matter expert, mentoring colleagues and contributing to knowledge sharing across projects and teams. 

  • Identifying opportunities to improve methodologies, processes and standards to increase quality, efficiency and impact. 

 

Your new department 

You will join Pharmacometrics within Research & Development, an area where scientific curiosity and advanced quantitative methods come together to accelerate the development of transformative therapies. 
The department plays a central role in drug development by applying pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modelling to guide clinical strategies, support regulatory submissions and enable data‑driven decisions across the pipeline. You will collaborate closely with clinical pharmacology, biostatistics, medical and science and clinical development teams in a highly international and collaborative environment. 
 

 

Your skills and qualifications 

We are looking for a highly experienced pharmacometrician who thrives in complex development environments and enjoys influencing both science and strategy. You bring a strong scientific foundation combined with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with diverse stakeholders. 

You have: 

  • A PhD or equivalent academic qualification in pharmacometrics or a closely related discipline. 

  • Extensive experience (7+ years) applying pharmacometric methods within pharmaceutical drug development or equivalent settings. 

  • Deep expertise in modelling and simulation, with hands‑on experience using relevant pharmacometric tools such as R and NONMEM. 

  • Proven experience contributing to regulatory submissions and interactions with global health authorities (e.g. FDA, EMA, PMDA). 

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to act as a trusted scientific advisor.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000.00 to 1,245,100.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position. 

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience. 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level,  location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
