Lead IT Solution Architect – Veeva Safety
Enterprise IT & Quality
Søborg
Are you passionate about shaping the digital architecture behind global patient safety? Our Vault Safety platform has just gone live, and we're looking for a Lead IT Solution Architect – Veeva Safety to take ownership of what comes next. You will inherit a live global platform, a substantial improvement roadmap, and the chance to shape how Novo Nordisk captures, processes, and reports adverse events for patients worldwide.
Your new role
As our Lead IT Solution Architect – Veeva Safety, you will own the end-to-end technical architecture for Novo Nordisk's Veeva Safety platform – spanning case intake, case processing, coding, and regulatory submissions – providing architectural leadership across one of the company's most safety-critical, GxP-regulated systems. This is a role where your architecture decisions carry direct weight for patient safety.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Owning and evolving the safety platform architecture, including Vault Safety configuration patterns, case-processing workflow design, and data flow across global and regional systems – ensuring alignment with enterprise target architecture and cross-Vault standards developed collaboratively within the Veeva Architecture & Projects (VAP) team
- Taking architectural ownership of Vault Safety now that the platform is live – prioritising the improvement roadmap, resolving technical debt, and steering the platform's evolution beyond the initial build. As new safety initiatives follow, you will own their architecture through delivery and into steady-state governance
- Owning the architectural integrity of safety-critical case data flows – including serious adverse event intake from clinical sources, product complaint-to-case triage with Quality, and case visibility shared with medical and communications channels – where design quality directly affects patient safety reporting and regulatory defensibility
- Designing and governing integrations between Vault Safety and enterprise systems and adjacent Vaults, applying event-driven and interface-first integration patterns – including safety-state event propagation and analytical replication into the Databricks-based Data Mesh
- Providing active technical leadership to delivery teams working on safety Veeva products – reviewing solution designs, guiding configuration choices, challenging approaches that create unnecessary complexity, and ensuring teams have clear architectural direction
- Contributing to the VAP architectural governance model: participating in Design Authority, authoring ADRs for significant safety platform decisions, and applying a structured approach to SaaS governance – including contributing safety domain patterns to shared standards used across the full Veeva estate
- Serving as the safety platform subject matter expert across a global stakeholder base – advising senior stakeholders on platform capabilities, roadmap implications, and emerging features, including VeevaAI for safety use cases
Your new department
In Enterprise IT & Quality, you will be part of a business area that drives impact across the full Novo Nordisk value chain. We strive to stay close to our stakeholders in the business to ensure we deliver on their needs, helping reach millions of people living with serious chronic diseases. Our focus is on being at the forefront within our three areas; ensuring the highest quality for patients, being a trusted tech leader and an environmentally responsible business.
You will be joining the Veeva Architecture & Projects (VAP) team at a pivotal moment. This work sits within a wider six-domain Veeva ecosystem spanning Clinical, Regulatory, Safety, Quality, and Commercial, where we are building shared architectural governance – Design Authority, configuration standards, ADR practice – and extending shared data models for the entities that run through all of them. Here, your architectural decisions have real impact from day one.
Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for a senior architect who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to lead across complex stakeholder landscapes. You'll bring with you:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years' experience in IT architecture, including technical strategy, governance and platform design
- Demonstrated expertise architecting enterprise pharmacovigilance or safety case management platforms. Direct Vault Safety experience is a plus, not a prerequisite; the underlying architectural and regulatory judgement transfers
- Experience with the Veeva Vault platform, in any domain, is an asset given the shared configuration model and cross-Vault governance this role operates within
- Solid understanding of scalable cloud architectures and modern integration patterns (API, event-based, data pipelines, etc.)
- Proven ability to mentor senior colleagues, influence stakeholders and solve complex cross-functional challenges
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance
