Do you have a passion for contributing to the generation of evidence that supports better healthcare decision‑making and sustainable innovation. If so, then we encourage you to apply for this postdoc position!

Your new role

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join an international public‑private consortium (CarePath). CarePath unites more than 40 public and private partners from across Europe with the goal to identify and test innovative digital interventions that will improve treatment persistence for people living with chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes and/or cardiovascular diseases.

The position is of two years duration with ideal start date 1st August 2026. You will primarily be located with the Public‑Private Partnership Team at Novo Nordisk Headquarters in Søborg with support and guidance from Novo Nordisk experts in Health Economics and Data Science.

In close collaboration with academic partners in the consortia, you will be involved in several tasks, including:

  • Analyse real‑world data to assess disease burden, risk factors, and treatment patterns across multiple countries
  • Evaluate medication persistence and adherence using longitudinal patient‑level data

  • Perform cost‑effectiveness and budget impact analyses to support evidence generation and business decision‑making
  • Translate data insights into scenarios for improved patient outcomes and healthcare system impact
  • Contribute to methodological development in incorporating persistence into economic evaluations
  • Collaborate on machine learning–driven personalisation approaches, including simulation and evaluation of reinforcement learning models

Your new department

The Public‑Private Partnerships (PPP) team at Novo Nordisk is leading large and complex international science‑driven projects across all of Novo Nordisk, of which many are supported through the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI). We facilitate evidence generation and innovation in public and private partnerships at scale to enable systemic change that Novo Nordisk cannot achieve alone. This commitment aspires toward fundamental improvements in our shared understanding and treatment of diseases, and to change the way all stakeholders within the healthcare system work together for the benefit of patients and society.

Your skills and qualifications

  • PhD in health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, or related field
  • Solid understanding of health economic evaluation methods (HTA, cost‑effectiveness, budget impact)
  • Strong experience with real‑world data analysis and statistical modelling, including large language models and machine learning methods
  • Proven experience in scientific programming in languages such R or Python, developing well‑documented pipelines using version control and deploying using Docker
  • Familiarity with GDPR and health data privacy requirements would be a plus
  • Experience working with healthcare or registry data
  • Knowledge of treatment adherence/persistence research
  • Understanding of cardiometabolic diseases (e.g. obesity, T2DM, cardiovascular disease)
  • Self‑driven and ability to collaborate and navigate a large multi‑country research consortia with diverse stakeholders from different sectors

As a person, you are curious and driven by science. You thrive in a changing and dynamic work environment and have a can‑do attitude with the ability to execute a plan and keep deadlines. You can work independently and are a good team player that can engage in constructive collaborations as part of project teams working towards the same goal.
